I don't find anything wrong with the emphasis on abstinence before marriage and fidelity in it, only in the real world one has to deal with the fact that the sexual revolution of the 1960s is now 40 years old: teenagers seem to try all sorts of experiments, including the potentially deadly "choking" game. Loving, deeply caring parents can make a great difference, although on occasion the general social and cultural climate may defeat the best of them.

by "emphasizing sexual abstinence and fidelity" they mean "refusing people access to comprehensive sex education and condoms".

You mean they won't let us learn about sex or buy condoms?

I am saying that they are demanding that half of their international aids prevention money be spent on abstinance/fidelity "education". This is taking money away from comprehensive sex education and condom distribution.

There is a lot of data that shows that abstinance/fidelity "education" does nothing to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS. Condoms and comprehensive sex-education are the best tools we have to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS.

And in the US, the bush admin. won't let teens learn about sex in school, as many states have abstinance-only education.

I am surprised that anybody could make such a stupid comment. My daughters didn't have any problem learing about sex in school. That is a locally controlled (what little control there is) activity. The President has nothing to do with it.

Shouldn't all of Bush' plan be scrutinized? The man does no know how to follow a budget.

That is the main function of Congress. But all they do is add pork barrel spending.

I adore Bush, and his amazing morals are what my dumb-ass country needs. Handing out condoms and providing private clinics where girls can get birth control and physicals without their parents knowing is promoting pre-marital sex--and ever since this priviate clinic has opened 3 mins away from my school and ever since my school has been handing out condoms, there has been an incredible INCREASE in pregnancies...so there's only one way up...promote adstinence. It's what this hell-destined country needs.

President Bush is the best president the u.s.ever had over 200 years..The only president to ever read a book to school children..and one can even see this on television...Yes,this is an exceptional individual..where? In the world do you find any individual to take time off from thier regular work
during a day where all are working and read a book to school children...And you all want to know when he read this book to school children? On...9/11...So what is wrong..absolutely nothing....On the contrary, that was the only way to get those interest rates down to 1%..
Take a look where the rates are today..Yes the long term mortages rates..Just below 5%...This is great news...

Yes my company have purchase all those properties ove the last 5 years at very low mortgages rates..And further more.look at all the monies our company will be making when they have to renew all those long term mortages rates which were purchase at more then 3% higher then they are today..

This is what you call a good president...President Bush..
"keep up your good work""Make sure that the price of a barrel of oil goes to 100.00
Boy you President Bush you are really making me rich...

we should not emphasize on abstinence only but we should also emphasize on the fact that some teenagers do not wait to get married in order to have sex and to make them believe that abstinence is the only way to prevent them from getting pregnant or cacthing an STI is false. They should be aware of their options for contraceptives(and how to use them) as well as their right to know what can happen when these are used incorrectly and that abstinence does not always lead them to where they wnat to go. What society needs is for us to be more open about sexuality and sex because the truth is that it happens. We live in a very conservative nation that believes that having sex before marriage is wrong when the only place that we got this idea from was the bible and to my believe there is a separation of church and state

1) People will have sexas early and often as possible.
2)If parents are respected, their lessons to be carefuland use protection will be honored.
3) If Bush gets involved, he will screw it up. What hasn't he screwed up?
4) Keep religion out of it. The pope doesn't know the game, priests bugger the boys, babtists make babies as fast as possible, etc. Religion does not equal morality.
5) Keep abortion safe and legal. If republican men could get pregnant, abortions would be free and subsidised by taxes on the poor.
Peace.

How can you adore a president who:

Turned a $400 billion surplus into a $400 billion deficit in less than 18 months

Added $3.5 trillion to the USA's National Debt

Failed in stopping the destruction of the second and third highest buildings in the US and the headquarters of the US's national defence

Has destoyed US credibility abroad and given the US military a huge case of paralysis in committing thousands of troops to unwinnable engagements in Iraq and Afghanistan

Has given the global drug trade its greatest boost in years by allowing drug lords free rein in producing thousands of tonnes in heroin from Afghani poppies

and presided over the greatest recruitment crisis in the US army, with hundreds of recruitment officers unable to 'make mission' and simulataneously lowering the standard of entering the military to the detriment of quality in the armed forces?
