Hi I'm mum to Kate who's 13 years old.
She was diagnosed with Avascular Necrosis 2 years ago.
July 07 she was admitted to hospital for a core decompression and hip distraction with an external fixator.
Jan 08 she had a Valgus Osteotomy, unfortunately none of this has worked, her hip has now completely collasped and fused to her hip socket.
We saw a surgeon last week in London who said she needs a THR, understandably Kate isn't keen, but is slowly coming round to the idea, it would really help if she could talk to others who have had THR at the similar age to her.
