Hello All,
My father had his hip replaced about 5 years ago. It never really came back to full strength. Now his leg just does not work like it used to. He can't pick it up off the ground very far at all. For some reason, when he lays down and tries to lift his foot up, it goes down instead of up. He has to be in a wheelchair now because if his foot hits even a small pebble while walking, he can't lift the foot over it and almost falls. He has been to a number of doctors who have looked at it and say that it is in the socket just fine and everything looks great. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Or can you suggest what type of doctor to see, imagery technology to use, or tests to take? ANY help would be most appreciated, I want him out of that wheelchair!
Thanks,
Matt

HELLO MATT
MY HIP REPLACEMENT WAS THREE YEARS AGO, JUST GOT OFF A CANE ONE MONTH AGO. DOCTORS SAID EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE HIP IN PLACE ETC....THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO. NO ANSWERS I JUST STRUGGLED EVERYDAY. PHYSIO THERAPISTS,(A FEW) ACUPUNTURE,MASSAGES,STRENGTH EXERCISES...NOTHING. FINALLY FOUND A NATUPATHIC CHIRO. THEY SAVED MY LIFE!! THEY FOUND MY HIP HAD BEEN SPRAINED FOR YEARS, MY MUSCLES WERE NOT TALKING TO EACH OTHER THEREFORE ONLY ONE MUSCLE WAS WORKING MY LEG. AFTER AWHILE OF THEM PRESSING ON CERTAIN MUSCLES AND PROLO THERAPY I BEGAN TO WALK, STILL LIMPED BUT I COULD GET AROUND MUCH EASIER. AFTER A YEAR ALMOST OF TREATMENT I AM WALKING GREAT SOMEDAYS, STILL HAVE NOT SO GOOD SAYS BUT GETTING BETTER EVERY WEEK. MEDICAL DOCTORS JUST LOOK AT THE JOB THEY DID, NOT WHAT IS CAUSING THE SYMPTOMS, THESE NATURPATHS FOUND WHAT MY PROBLEMS WERE, SO GRATEFUL FOR THEM. WHEN THEY FIRST SEEN ME THEY TOLD ME I WOULD BE IN A WHEELCHAIR IF I DIDN'T ADDRESS THE ISSUES SURROUNDING MY HIP.IF YOU REPLY TO THIS I'LL GIVE YOU THE NATURPATHS PHONE NUMBER, MAYBE THEY KNOW OF SOMEONE IN YOUR AREA.

Markie,
Thanks so much for the reply! This really helps because I do not think my father has seen a natupathic chiro, or even know what that is. Do you know if regular insurance covers these types of doctors? Also, do you know how they figured out you had a sprained hip and what that means for muscles working together? Sorry for all of the questions but I am trying to find out as many possible solutions. Thank you for your time!

I understand all your questions,I had them to but noone to help me.I'd like to give you my email but Im not sure if I should post it on a forum??!!Im Canadian and insurance doesn't cover it here but it not that expensive a visit is 63.00 cdn. you only see them once a week so your body can respond to what they do. Is your fathers injury to his hip an old one? Mine was. Its very complicated to tell you exactly what they do, but there is really no pain to speak of. If your comfortable posting your email I'll be happy to email you back with a phone number so we can talk. I will also ask my naturpath if they have anybody in your area that they can recommend
After being on this forum for three years always searching for some kind of an answer I know how he must feel. I would be willing to help in anyway I could.

Medical professionals are the best people to inquire about your concern. If you doubt the decision and diagnosis of the current doctor, you may find another one and compare the options they set. Regarding hip pain, you should know that it is a common problem, and it can be confusing because there are several causes. It is important to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of your symptoms so that appropriate treatment can be directed at the underlying problem. Related health input, defective hip devices may cause health complications. Serious hip injuries, dislocations, or fractures can lead to Avascular Necrosis, medical specialists say. It is a condition wherein blood supply to the ball (the ball-shaped piece of bone that fits into the socket of the hip) portion of the thighbone is cut off and the bone begins to break down. Due to Johnson & Johnson’s defective hip implant products, the company is now facing a number of DePuy lawsuit filed by victimized patients. See http://www.rotlaw.com/depuy-asr/ .

Your father’s situation is not a first. Legal experts report that numerous patients filed lawsuits against Johnson and Johnson. They were the victims of DePuy hip implants failures such as loosening, fractures, and displacements. See http://www.depuyhipreplacementlawsuit.com/hip... for a more comprehensive discussion.
