It is true, back in the 1990's prior to autism being part of IDEA, the classification was mental retardation. Once autism was added to IDEA, mental retardation declined at a mazing rate as autism rose. Public schools are public records, and any one in the USA can reseach this.

Number one reason is side effects. Only on the internet and firums like this to you read about severe cases, but there is no proof of it. It's just the same old thousands that anti vaxxers keep repeating but never produce them. The severe side effects are rare, just as rare as being allergic to an antiboitic and until one is introduced to something, one doesn't know they're allergic.

Nice article, again debunked those fears but parents should research and base it off their own family history; not the history of anti vaxxers who can not back up their claims of horror.

Leo Kanner studied 11 children, not 13 and he wasn't the first. Eugen Bleuler was. Leo Kanner also found all 11 children in the USA (8 boys and 3 girls), not all around the world and his work was based on early infantile autism and the individual differences of severity of manifestations. He is most famous for studying Donald T, born in Mississippi, and Leo Kanner showed with this one subject, those with autism do progress. Only 3 of the 11 never learned to talk.
Donlad T by the way lives independently, drives a car, plays golf and travels all around the world. Thanks for bringing up Kanner and those 11 cases, they're sure to inspire hope for many parents.

First link- dead.

Second link- a case study, concludes with MMR vaccination has been proved to be safe and to reduce significantly the number of reported infections due to these viruses. However, significant adverse events can occur and paediatricians and public health operators should be aware of this aspect.

Third link- Scare tactic and unfounded claims. three fourths of Cerebral palsy result from issues that occur during pregnancy. 2 percent is genetics. Near drowning is a cause, but not vaccines.

Fourth link- So a child was awarded in Vaacine court, so what. First of all, autism wasn't one of the bases for award, and second this one child does not depict the majority. Another scare tactic by whale.

Thanks showing how anti vaxxers try to promote fears and for dazzling us with great links of little value!

That's just your asinine response. Others will read and comprehend what they actually mean. Why do you think vaccination is such a contentious issue? Don't answer that, I'll do it now....DUH

Other will read it and see exactly what I did, no science at all. And they will also catch the little tid bit from the second link about the MMR vaccination has been proved to be safe and to reduce significantly the number of reported infections due to these viruses.

Thanks for debunking yourself! It certainly makes it easier for the rest of us!

The lies about safety are standard. Anyone telling the truth will be blackballed and lose their career. So no matter what, they ad the safe/effective lie.

Nice try. We all know what single looser I was talking about, just as I knew who you were talking about. Making vaccines really isn't a career anyway nor will they ever be black balled! Bummer for you, you're own link states the MMR vaccination has been proved to be safe and to reduce significantly the number of reported infections due to these viruses. However, significant adverse events can occur and paediatricians and public health operators should be aware of this aspect. Everything has side effects, yet the majority isn't affected.
It was your link, so you must had agreed with it to post it.

Yea be aware vaccines are dangerous, and you should not informed parents pre-vaccine or admit a connection post vaccine. If they refuse to continue vaccinating drop them as patients, and those at CDC can pressure governments to erode parent's rights and force vaccinations.Resistance is futile

Wake up to the real world. Vaccines have side effects, they have always stated that they do and it is no more than the side effects one has a risk when contracting the virus outright. But leave it to anti vaxxers to claim they knew nothing about the side effects being from a vaccine or from contracting the illness. Hello. That means anti vaxxers lived in la la land. What's dangerous is anti vaxxers that live in la la land giving advise and spewing fear tactics without knowing each individuals medical history or risks if one contacts a childhood illness, like those too young for vaccine choice or those on chemo.
Everyone has a right to make vaccine choices, including to vaccinate and not to. The only ones helping to remove vaccine choice are anti vaxxers, IF more people listen to them it will have an effect. So far, very few take them seriously but if vaccine choice ever changes, there will be no one to thank but anti vaxxers.
