Feels like using the toilet is going to split me in two!!

How many of you have had sessions on the toilet that felt like you were passing a grape fruit? Is this kind of painful sharp pain common with hemis? Kinda feels like I'm being split open on the inside. I'm reaching out to brace myself on both walls of the stall hoping that I dont scream out.
In a related item...is there a good list of food to avoid and food thats ok to create soft stools?? I saw where pretzels are bad and last week I wolfed down an entire bag of pretzel rods. Passing stool lately feels like someone shoved a salty pretzel rod up my tail and worked it around a bit. Sorry for that mental image!! And no I dont what to try hemroid harry or whatever that stuff is!

I know how you feel. Some days I am in tears after go to the bathroom. Some days I think I am passing a grape fruit but the stool is only normal sized.

I had similar problems that continued for almost a year. I've had the very same feeling. I was getting plenty of fiber and fluids so I knew that wasn't the problem. I started doing some probiotics and that greatly helped. All probiotics means is the good intestinal flora, as in yogurt, kefir etc. I found that kefir works better then yogurt for me, but it's all good. All the talk of fiber and hemorrhoids is good, but I think the missing element is intestinal flora. If you don't have a good supply of the good little bugs having a movement is very likely going to be a strain. It was amazing to me how much easier taking a dump became after adding some of the friendly little buggers.

If you ever have a prolapsed hemorrhoid, don't feel like you have to have surgery. Also, avoid creams with cortisone or anesthetics because they make the situation worse. Take it from a veteran who has done all the wrong things. There is a product out there called Anuleaf AD which addresses the friction issue which is major and no one ever addressed it.

For bowel movements you should use a drug-free ointment before and after as it helps a lot.

HI! Every time I went to the bathroom it felt like I was pooping a razor blade because the pain was so sharp. I'm not sure if this is what your sharp pain feels like, but it's worth letting you know about. I started with 2 small external hemmoroids that didn't bother me, but the razor blade feeling while I pooped was unbearable! Turns out I had a fiussure, shich is a tear on the skin of the anus. It kind of feels like a "split lip". The doctor has to prescribe a creme with Nephrodine or something in it htat you get from a "compound" pharmacy... normal pharmacy's don't carry it.
