Hi all,
I have been trying to find a cause of my horrific halitosis, and "H pylori" keeps popping up in my research. Do any of you, who have tested positive for h pylori, suffer from bad breath as one of your symptoms? I have some digestive issues, but no ulcers that I am aware of. I am going to make an appointment with my doctor and hopefully he will test me for h pylori. If anyone has had halitosis from h pylori, please let me know! My bad breath has me stumped, and I am in the middle of a process of elimination, I have already been to the dentist twice in the last 6 months, and my mouth is in great shape! The dentist told me that my bad breath must be related to my diet. I have elimnated dairy, sugar, etc, to no avail. I am desperate for an answer. Thank you so much!

For 7 years I have had severe stomach issues. First diagnosed with ulcers, started taking nexium. Seemed to work for awhile, the severe stomach pains started again. I am always in the bathroom or never going to the bathroom. Yes at times my breath is gross. My gastro dr had me take the breath test, and I tested positive for H pylori. I am taking 550 mg of xifaxan 3 times a day, and I am still on the nexium. Who knew this bacteria causes ulcers. I am hoping I wake up in a few days with fresh breath. I did notice when I follow a gluten free diet, I felt better. Someone wrote gums makes it worse. I find that to be true also, any kind of sweets a makes to worse. Good luck to everyone and I hope you all are cured of this horrible bacteria.

Just been diagnosed with H.pylori Infection. I'm on some sort of medicine called Triple antibodic therapy, i believe thats the name. Now my question is has anyone seen any result from taking this Triple antibodic therapy? Keep in mind i have no serious symptoms other than dealing with my bad breath. Now my question is has any one seen any results from the Triple antibodic therapy ? If so has your bad breath disappeared . Please do let me know if anyone had success in realting to this? Hi, the enzymes worked great at first. My tongue was clear and no signs of bad breath. Well the effect wore off and my tongue is not as clear anymore. not sure how my breath is because I'm ashamed to ask anyone. I will continue to take them just in case. I had a feeling it would be a temporary fix like everything else! Hope you guys found a solution. Hang in there!!

Hi Yuckmouth
Sorry you are still no closer to a solution. Just a thought... I think you said you had a HP test done via endoscopy? These can sometimes be false negative. Why don't you ask your doctor for a stool test ..just to double check. You never know the first test may have missed it? Worth a try maybe?

I have been dealing with halitosis for well over 10 years. At age 16 I started having digestive and bowel problems. Doctors just told me to take fiber and suppositories. I've always had trouble having bowel movements. Here I am 15 yrs later at age 31 with ulcers, just had gallbladder removed and chronic case of gastitis and halitosis. I can taste the nasty stuff in my mouth and my tongue looks horrific. I think I am going straight to the doctor and demanding to be tested for helicobacter pylori. I just fear it will never go away!

I ALSO, HAVE HAD BAD BREATH FOR ABOUT A YEAR. I WOULD BRUSH, FLOSS, EVERYTHING POSSIBLE AND THEN I FOUND OUT , DUE TO MS LABS , THAT I HAVE HP. I REALIZE NOW THAT THE BAD BREATH IS CAUSED BY THE REFLUX, THE SMELL OF FOOD COMING BACK UP IS LIKE A SEWER SO GETTING TREATMENT IS WHAT I DID, THE TREATMENT IS NOT SO COMFORTABLE BUT THE ALTERNATIVE IS WORSE, THE PAIN I HAD WITH STOMACH ACHES, THE BURNING IN MY STOMACH AND TERRIBLE HEADACKES. IT IS WORTH 14 DAYS OF PREVAC, JUST TAKE SOME DIFLUCAN FOR THE YEAST AND DO NOT JUST WASH OR SOAK YOUR TOOTHBRUSH , THROW IT AWAY AND BUY A NEW ONE, THEY ARE CHEEP AND ITS WORTH THE NOT GETTING THE BACTERIA BACK, AS FOR THE CHILDREN AND FAMILY GETTING IT, ITS NOT LICE! YOU GET IT THROUGH STRESS, EXTENSIVE, WHICH MAKES YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM GO DOWN AND YOU ARE SUPSEPTABLE TO EVERYTHING, AND YOU CATCH IT FROM SALAVA , OR OTHER BODY FLUIDS AND SUCH AS ALSO DRINKING BAD WATER OR EATING BAD FOODS, OR IF YOU HAVE BEEN TO ANOTHER COUNTRY AND GOTTEN IT, DONT DRINK THE WATER. AFTER THE MED PACK, BUY A NEW TOOTHBRUSH, WASH YOUR HANDS GOOD, SOAK YOUR TOOTHBRUSH THEN, AND GIRLS, YOU CAN THROW AWAY SUCH THINGS AS LIPSTICK, EYE PRODUCTS AND ANYTHING THAT YOU USE ON YOUR LIPS SO YOU DO NOT RE-INFECT YOURSELF!

Hi All, I too am suffering from bad breath for as long as I can remember. My dentist says everything is fine. My ENT says everything is fine. I have tried very many things. I don't know what it is like to have a fresh breath because I never had it. I know that I am tested positive for h. pylori. I have tried homeopathetic treatment......to no avail. I recently spent $1200 on Traditional Chinese Medicine....to no avail. The Chinese doctor said that it is heat in my stomach. He used accupuncture to tone my liver, kidneys, and to reduce heat ........all to no avail. Just money down the drain for me. I eat big meals and brush my teeth 5x a time with flossing 3x. All to absolute no avail. Just 5 to 10 minutes later, I feel hungry. I don't know what to do. Someone please help !!!! I am very embarassed and every around me makes me feel so much more conscious of it. I am tired of always rising above the situation and looking beyond it. I need real help. This is the first time I am on this blog. I do not intend to be on it again. You can email me at hanahf@hotmail.ca Thx to all those that can help !!! God bless you.

i too suffer from extreme halitosis(people who are 4 meters away from me can still smell my breath)and body odor.i cant smell my breath or my supposed body odor.i have been to a lot of doctors who are mostly ENT and all told me that i am normal and that my halitosis and my body odor is only in my mind(although all of them periodically cover their nose, cough excessively, sniffle and open their windows or turn their air fans while i am talking).its only lately that a gastro has determined that i have HP infection and i have lessions inside my stomach.the gastro conclude that my suffering is a direct result of HP.right now im on my second day of medication(antibiotics)and hopeful that my odor problems will be cured.
Hi Karl, i m on the same boat as you. People can smell me 7 feet away due to bad breath coming from my mouth when i m talking and my nose when i m not talking. I floss 3x, brush 5x, bathe everyday. I kno i m clean, but this annoying bacteria is taking a toll me on psychologically and socially.
I just have the bad breath, with a positive h. pylori, and all else is fine (knock on wood). When asked, everyone tells me it is all in my head. No doc has figured out the root cause or its treatment. Pls let me kno which antibiotic you are taking and whether or not it helped. Email me at hanahf@hotmail.ca thx.

I can't wait to tell you that I found the cause of our bad breath ......After almost 40 years, today is the first day I wake up with no bb.. I feel I am a new person...Yesterday I had to be taken to the hospital because I was feeling the urge to poop and I couldn't...literally I was screaming in the bathroom..After examination, the doctor gave me Fleet, which is a liquid that I have to squirt in my bottom to help me poop. And right after I did it, I was able to poop, and immediately felt a relief from the bb...Believe me brothers and sisters, if it smells like poop, then it is poop..Don't live in this hell anymore. the smell is coming from our inside. we might be going to the toilet but there is matter building up that is rotting and this is the cause of our smell.
Through my years of research, I did a lot of barium enema, colonoscopy... and everytime the doctor will find poop in my intestine and feels frustrated with me thinking that I didn't prepare myself properly, knowing that I did exactly as they told me. Finally the truth is here. It is poop that is piling up in our bodies that is causing the sulfuric odor that smells like shit. I am like you, had a terrible life with a lot of tears, but I now I know better.
I am going to see my GP, asking her to transfer me to a specialist to deal with this bowel issue. Please do so you too, and stop taking all these antibiotics. It will not help you. I took a lot of them and tried different diets and every time I think they would work. But finally I know the truth. It is so simple..Empty your bowel.
I really hope you go to your doctor and tell them what I told you and ask them to help you poop better and share with me your feedback, like that we will have doctors feedbacks from all over the world. At least we know what is causing it now, let us see if we can find the solution for not letting it go back again.
May I ask you how often you have bowel movement. In my case, I go everyday and feel satisfied. I do not think I am accumulating any poop in my body, yet I must say that my breath smells like poop. So, I am stumped. Pls respond to hanahf@hotmail.ca with more info.

whether it is the bacteria or other, what is the big deal?? the most important point is to get rid of the bb.Have you ever thought about deodorizing your stomach? try a teaspoon of chlorophyll in a cup of water twice a day and I guaranty you, the bb will not be your friend ever again :))))))
Good luck
Hi ! I have been taking the chlorophyll 2-4 times a day, and it is not working for me !!! I envy you !
