thaks a lot Sophie,
im in the same situation even worse. the bad breath has affected my daily life badly. im not attending my college, i feel embaressed. my friend tells me my mouth doesnt smell, but the reaction i get from people its really bad, in the college, public places and ect. i live in hell. i cried many times, if i was a bit brave i would take my life. doctors are useless.
some times i have burn feeling in my chest. after doing clonoscopy and endoscopy doctors said everything is normal except i have hp in my stomch. i took 3 antibiotics for 1 week but no effect. one doctor said hp doesent cause bad breath theother doctor said can.
theother embaressing broblem i got is that i have mucus coming out during egestion.

a large part of my life was crippled due to similar experience of bad breath as discussed here. I am now 40 and got a better self-researched understanding on it:
1) I used to get "tonsil stones". This is small whitish deposits in the tonsils. These "white balls" are offensively smelling. I used to get it regularly sometimes and occassionally at other times. I realized that the bad taste in my mouth is a lot due to it. All ENT's i consulted told me to surgically remove my tonsil. After a lot of search, i have got the answer from the internet itself. The tonsil stones are a result of "lactose intolerance". The undigested lactose from milk and milk products goes back up to the tonsil cavities and gets deposited there. I have stopped all milk products for two weeks and tonsil stones have completely disappeared. with that half of my bad breath problem is cured. If i have any milk product, i get it back again. Modern medicine is so stupid that none of the doctors are aware of this connection. Hence, never, ever go by the doctors assessment.
but even after curing the tonsil stones, by bad breath was not fully gone. I too am hyper-acidic and my father's family everyone had ulcers. SO, i am sure i would be having the H Pylori in my stomach. Whether these idiots called modern doctors accepts it or not, the next main source of my bad breath is H Pylori. Whenever my acidity goes up, my breath stinks more. When i have coffee, tea, etc in the morning, by the later part of they my oral condition used to worsen and bad breath used to surface. when i stop tea, coffee (may be softdrinks, etc), my mouth is clean for whole day and my breath is fresh. So it is the acid content in the food which gives a fertile background for the H Pylori which increases the Volatile Sulphur Compound (VSC) in the tongue. On top of it, if i have food with high sulphur compund like garlic, onion, etc, its all hell breaking loose. So, if i cant cure the H Pylori, then doing away with tea, coffee, softdrinks, garlic, onion, etc controls the problem a lot. Of course, i have banned milk and milk products too. To conclude, two of the vital reasons for bad breath can be 1) tonsil stones due to lactose intolerance and 2) H Pylori. Dont give a damn about what the doctors say.

I Had H Bacter Pylori about 8 years , had a small ulcer 25 years ago and a reflux gullet.
I have had very bad breath for about 10 years. I cleaned my tongue, flossed, watched diet, ate fruit but no success. 6 weeks ago I had an endoscopy and tested positive for helico-bacter again, but luckily no problem in the gullet or stomach.
I started the helico-bacter treatment and after about 4 days my breath almost disappeared. It is now 3 weeks since treatment, my tongue is a lot cleaner and I have had normal breath.
I can categorically say that helico does give appalling breath (for me at least). I think my first treatment for helico 8 years simply didn't work.
My consultant plans to retest me for helico in about 4 weeks, so I will be interested to see what he says. I feel confident to speak to people now without feeling worried about my breath.
Hello, I was very interested to hear that you had treatment for the big H. Can you advise what this treatment is.

I actually have been tested for H-Pylori and waiting for the results. I do know bacteria in the gut will cause bad breath. I suggest you take a medication for H-Pylori and use Pylera. It has a high eradication rate of 93% vs Prev pac 83%, its (pylera) only 10 days vs 14 days with prev pac. I will be using this one for sure after studing the difference. Hope this helps!

Hi all,
I have been trying to find a cause of my horrific halitosis, and "H pylori" keeps popping up in my research. Do any of you, who have tested positive for h pylori, suffer from bad breath as one of your symptoms? I have some digestive issues, but no ulcers that I am aware of. I am going to make an appointment with my doctor and hopefully he will test me for h pylori. If anyone has had halitosis from h pylori, please let me know! My bad breath has me stumped, and I am in the middle of a process of elimination, I have already been to the dentist twice in the last 6 months, and my mouth is in great shape! The dentist told me that my bad breath must be related to my diet. I have elimnated dairy, sugar, etc, to no avail. I am desperate for an answer. Thank you so much!

Surfing on the web I found this article http://www.helico.com/case_study-01-halitosis... i.html is very interesting.
Like most people here, I have Halitosis for 20 years and did not know why, I found out I have acid reflux when I went to an ENT few months ago, went to a GI doctor and test positive for HP .Next week I'm starting the treatment. Triple antibiotics seem to be the answer.

I'm 26 year old with a child its ashame that my four year old daughter says mommy ur breath stinks.I've been every where from dentist to gi doctors its ashame that know one can still find the cause to my bad breath. when I go to the dentist they say my mouth is fine i have no infections. I went to a GI doctor and they diagnosed me with helicobacter pylori he gave me prev pac, I had to take it for two weeks, it cured my breath for two weeks but then after the treatment it came back. I do not know what to do any more I tried everything. I paid $900 to a dentist thinking he can cure me and that was a waste of time. I really need to find a cure, can any one help me pls..

Yes. I do believe that h. pylori without a doubt causes bad breath! I hope by now you have tried the 4 drug regimine provided by www.pharmacist.com on h. pylori. This is the treatment that helped me.(took 5-6 weeks) The MATULA tea was a rip off at $200. for one month with a money back guarantee that they won't stand by. Impossible to get your money back. They just want to sell you more and more product at those $$$$$ rates! Someone should report them to the FDA. Best of luck with your treatment!

Hi Karl Cruz, I'm facing just the same problem you mentioned. I'm curious to know did u find solution?

Hi, everyone, I ve had bad breath for more than 10 yrs and 6 months ago I was diagnosed with Helico Pylori. The doctor prescribed me a triple antibiotic treatment(Amoxicillin,Clarithr omycin,Lansoprazole).
After 1 day of taking those there was no trace of bad breath. I was stunned. It worked .
Hi, I am having the same treatment from my doctor. Did it ever come back in your case (I mean the bad breath?).
Thanks
