I tested positive for H Pylori from a chiropractor and was told it was a massive infection. Over 6 times the max on the scale. The confusing this is my symptoms. I can a cast iron stomach no acid reflux or upper GI issues at all.

My symptoms seem to be fatigue, diagnosed adrenal fatigue, dry skin, hair loss, constipation, bloating, massive gas, sight problems.

Does anyone here has these symptoms? I am so confused because everything I see are vomiting, ulcers, acid reflux, sour stomach.

I do feel tired and terrible all the time. I literally sleep all the time. I feel so depressed and tired all the time. Life is just not right living this way.

I am reading antibiotics mostly for cure and hope I am going to right route as regular MD's just told me I was healthy. I am on Apex Enegetics H-PLR, Gastro ULC, TerrainZyme HCL Prozyme.

I am looking for some experience or anything. I can't live my life like this for much longer. I am so miserable with this infection

Well after sleeping for 9 hours last night I woke up and ate some brunch. I woke up early at 10 am today. However after eating I felt so exhausted I fell asleep for about half hour. I have been on these supplements for 2 days now.

I have to stop myself from crying right now as I want to get up and go outside and live. I went to mall yesterday and drove straight home after 30 minutes got in bed. I usually start feeling better around 11 pm. I am 42 years old and feel like I am 100 years old with this fatigue. No one has these horrible symptoms I am left alone at my house to wonder when the hell am I going to feel normal?

I all see are people responding to each other about their acid reflux heart burn. Anyone out there with massive chronic fatigue. No one even responds to my posts.

also I forgot to mention. I am only eating fruit now and I had broccoli last night for dinner. I wish I had weight loss as i gained 16 lbs from this garbage. I used to be 114 lbs and full of energy now I am hitting 130 lbs. Only twice in my life have I weighed that much. Now my weight is slowly climbing up along with the lower intestinal bloating. I eat to help give me energy and it just cause these awful gas bloating. Then I stop eating for 8 hours until I feel like collapsing. IT'S such A VICIOUS CYCLE.

Hi Dephazz06
It sounds like you have exactly the same symptoms that I had. I also never really suffered with stomach pains other than an occasional acid reflux pain maybe only once every month or two. My biggest problem was the fatigue..also sleeping over 12 hours a day often..and the terrible bloating and gas, hair loss, bad skin etc. I stopped eating if I knew I had to go out in the evening as I knew I would be too uncomfortable and tired to enjoy myself. I also felt like I was over 100 years old instead of 50 (suspect I've had this for many years).
Have you actually taken any antibiotic treatment and been re-tested? That's the first step.
I failed the first antibiotic treatment, then went on mastic gum and broccoli sprouts for months and felt much better. The symptoms then returned earlier this year so I recently took the quadruple antiobiotic treatment and very happy to report that they pylori is now gone. I am feeling so much better now and I would urge you to start an eradication programme as soon as possible. Good luck

Thank you for that response. I am grateful that I don't have the "usual symptoms" but definitely need to hear this may be the culprit. I have been tired most of my teens on so I wonder if it is possible to hard this bacteria for decades.

I on some supplements that have a multitude of ingredients. I just ate my first batch of broccoli sprouts today. I also add grapefruit seed extract to my water. I figured it couldn't harm.

I am feeling a little bit better this afternoon. I just want my life back.

I have been to a medical doctor because they all ran my blood work and said you are fine. I went to a function chiropractor whom discovered this.

I was going to give the supplement route a try before antibiotics. I also see that my MD offers breath testing for H Pylori but I hate to have all these "cooks in the kitchen" so to speak so I thought I would give the Chiro a whirl first.

SO what anti-biotics did they give you that last round?

Did the anti-biotics mess your system up? I hear they can make a stronger more resistant strain. I was augmentin this year so I wonder that is responsible for the "Massive H Pylori colony" I have.

Thank you so much for the response. I was feeling very sad this morning. I also hear it causes major anxiety and I think that may have been my case. As soon I went to the bathroom I felt much better. The constipation just messes my well being up. I am almost to the point of not eating food either but I do get hungry.

I can't thank you enough for your response.

u should not stop eating some things like broccoli make u even more gasy and bloated but it is suppose to be good when u fight HP. And my doctor made sure to tell me to stay away from sugar so i havent touched it since .I was really bloated too.I did drink lots of green tea and fennel tea with honey which gave some relief .Im still fighting a gastritis this bug left me with all together its been 5 months but im HP free.It does get better and the depression and anxiety will go away too :)i hope u feel better soon

Thank so for those reassuring words. Most of my family and friends think it's "in my head" and I am fine. I would love to trade with them.

How do you know if you have gastritis. Do I need to have an endoscopy?

I don't have any heartburn or acid reflux. I occasionally have tiny burp after I eat something but thats all.

This whole thing is just bizarre because i have had no stomach issue just colon or lower intestinal. My skin was getting really dry and paper thin looking. My doc thinks because I am not absorbing nutrients like i should be.

Augh. I can wait for this to go away.

My first round of treatment consisted of Amoxycillin, Clarithromycin and Pantoprazole. I honestly think it would have cured it if I'd taken it longer but my doctor only prescribed it for 7 days when I think it should have been 10 or 14 days. I was really feeling great afterwards for a long time so it obviously knocked the HP back but didn't entirely wipe it out.

Slowly the symptoms started to return so I went the natural way for 2 or 3 months...mastic gum, broccolli sprouts and coconut oil and again felt much better for a while but after another few months the symptoms returned again so I decided to try the quad treatment. I found the information on the website www.helico.com which is run by Dr Barry Marshall the doctor who discovered this bacteria and won a Nobel prize for his work on it.

That consisted of bismuth, tetracycline, metronidazole and omeprazole.(tetracycline and bismuth is unavailable in my country so I had to send off for it to Australia) It was a real pain with so many pills to take but I made up a schedule and stuck to it rigidly. Felt pretty rough while I was taking it but I persevered as the alternative is far worse.

Anyway, I was tested recently and it came back all clear so it seems to have done the job. I'm now taking probiotics and trying to eat soothing foods. Something I do get now which I didn't get before is more episodes of acid reflux pain when I eat something not easily digestable but it only happens occasionally and I think it is improving over time. The stomach has obviously been used to having this bacteria for many years so it probably now just re-adjusting to it's absence.

Dephazz06, take heart. This is not all in the head. It is very real and this nasty bug causes all sorts of horrible symptoms. I had terrible night sweats for years, aching muscles and joints, nosebleeds and several other nasty things which have mostly now cleared up. All tests showed up as normal. I also now have osteopenia which I am sure has been caused through the lack of nutrition because my body wasn't digesting the food I've been eating for so long.

Thinking back over the years I am pretty certain my mother had this for much of her life (probably where I picked it up) as she always suffered terribly with her stomach and other complaints and was told eventually that it was all in the head. She ended up on painkillers and tranquilisers which I feel so sad about as she must have been so depressed and misunderstood... She also ended up with terrible osteo arthritis which again, I'm sure was due to the lack of proper nutrients being digested over the years.

Anyway, good luck with your chosen path of eradication attempt. From my own experience, I would suggest trying a round of antibiotics in the first instance and if that fails then try the natural way. It can be a tough cookie to get rid of, that's for sure. Keep us posted.:)

Thank you for that info. A functional nutrition doctor actually found so I am letting him give me these vitamins with a whole slew of ingredients. Bismuth, mastic gum are some.

I agree I am 42 and I think I have had this for almost a decade. My hair slowly started falling out around 28 years old. Now my skin is dry and thin. I hope we caught it in time for not too much damage. It has definitely shot my adrenals. I am in stage 6 or 7 adrenal fatigue/disease.

Thank you for your encouraging words, you eased my mind a little bit. I think my Mom may need to get tested too. I am encouraging her too.

I definitely have good and bad days while on these herbs. I hope that means the bacteria is slowly dying off.

BTW - Brocolli sprouts are the worst!!!!

Broccoli is one of the foods that has been proven to kill H. pylori.

Mastic gum also works for some.

Mastic gum: must buy a good quality product
http://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJM1998...

Two of the potential problems of using antibiotics to eradicate an H. pylori infection are:
1. 80% success rate for some treatments (triple dose), in which case your doctor might put you an a different regiment.
2. Such antibiotics do not differentiate between H. pylori and the other beneficial bacteria that aid digestion etc.

I have an H. pylori infection that has resulted in stomach and duodenum ulcers, along with extreme fatigue, gas, and pain in all of my soft body tissues (a living hell, really). I'm trying tumeric and mastic gum for about a month to see if it works before taking the antibiotics.

Carlos,

I did the quad antibiotics, I finished them 1/2/12. I still have lower digistive burning, extreamly painful bloating, very loud gurggling, metallic taste and bleach smell to my breath.

Please keep us updated on your results

10yrs ago my h/pylori was 1700, had the triple pills, only managed 5 days was in casualty for 2 of them. absolutely desroyed me,lost 12kilos, had two blow tests, first was a false reading, there is an art to it. deep breath count to ten then blow.
suffered 18mth but refused more pills, put myself on garlix, acidopholus, coloidal silver, and colostrum. my last reading was 9. my doc said whatever you are doing keep it up.some people sail thru the triple therepy and some really suffer.my friend was treated by dr marshall who monitored her step by step as she was like me and lost heaps of weight. i was so depressed i was sent to a psychiatrist for depression. same happened to my friend, dr marshall went mad when he heard this was happening to people, he said dont these doctors realise how this bug can effect people. just to add mums who have it dont blow on your babies food to cool it,thats how it starts and passes on, you gain 1% each year and more if you suffer stress, great

Unfortunately, this is a typical experience. I suffered for 3 years and at after the last round of tests my general doctor said "All of the tests are fine, there is nothing wrong with you." He then suggested that I see a psychiatrist. I'd been to various specialists since my pain was all over by body (cardiologist for chest pain, a rheumatologist, a proctologist, etc) and all tests showed nothing.

I finally took it upon myself to see an internist last month because the pain in my stomach was excruciating. Sure enough, they found the ulcers and the biopsy confirmed the H. pylori infection. Blood work also showed that I have hypercalcemia.

One of the lessons that I've taken from this experience is that we must play an active role, along with our healthcare providers, in the healthcare that we receive. Be an active participant and be informed so that you don't just accept a medical opinion which may be wrong.

Larry:
*Try mastic gum (search Amazon and read the reviews). I've taken the Mastic Gum twice a day for about a week now and I am already feeling much better, but the internist still wants me to go on quad-dose anti-biotics for two weeks starting next week.

*Try Zantac for the burning feeling. It has worked for me (I take it in the morning before I eat anything).

*The metal taste in you mouth is the result of the H. pylori bacteria dying (google it).

Hope you feel better.
