Thank you Dagmar,
I searched for days to find somebody with same symptoms, this blog is very good, kind of desperate here, in Denmark since doctors do speak mostly Danish and give less attention and information to foreign people, my doctor did not even know what my symptoms are until I asked for H-pylori test... stayed w this burning for about 3 months...and is back :( hope my bug is gone too. I pray that I will sooner be better like you. Thank you.

If the doctor said that the bug is gone and no ulcer, and you said nothing about burning like from acid... semms like is just the side efect of many antibiotics you have been taken until now and the lack of health bacteria that have been eradicated too. Try to have just little meals, every 3 hours like vegetables soup, blended, smashed, no bread, meat or else, fruits like banana, herbal tea but not spicy, water 2 liters/day as a drink, try to find a good probiotic product, and most likely a natural farmacy can give some products to help you. Hope we will all be better soon. I am still at war with mine :)

I have been feeling awful for about 1 year now. It all started when I had excruciating pain in my abdominal area for hours then it would magically go away. I would feel nauseous and then the extreme pain would start. I went to the md who did a blood test and ordered an ultrasound. Before the ultrasound, I got the results of my blood test stating that my liver enzymes were elevated and I was positive for H pylori. He prescribed the medicines to get rid of it and told me to take immediately for one week. The ultrasound showed I had many mobile gallstones, so I read about it, tried the gallbladder flush. When that didn't work I decided to try Ursodiol to dissolve them. Anyway, back to the H pylori. I noticed after taking the antibiotics, I felt extremely bloated and had acid reflux. I thought must be the gallstones. After 6 months, I went for another ultrasound to see if the Urso was doing any good. To my surprise, it did great, no gallstones! I was happy, but still felt crappy. I thought must be the side effects of Urso. So, from the stuff I read online, I decided to take the medicine for three more months. That was about three weeks ago. I was excited, I thought I was going to feel like my old self again. I was devastated, I actually felt worse. I still have the constant acid reflux and bloating plus a sore throat that I am assuming is from the reflux. I went back to the md a couple days ago, and he just wants to give me more medications. I never had symptoms from H pylori, and I believe it was actually beneficial for me. I just want to feel better. By the way, I took probiotics for several months, I felt good for about 2 days, then went back to feeling awful. Anyway, I wish I had never gotten rid of the bacteria. I hope this story helps someone else, like all the stories have helped me.

Simona,

the pain is n my back between my shoulder blades. Its in my upper back. Its almost like someone shot me n the chest and the bullet went out my back. It radiates all the way through. Ugh. Also burning n my throat and other symptoms i have developed since after taking the anti-biotics.

My update. From start I had a lot of gas, warm intestines, noise and gurgling on left side abdominal area, burning pain on the lower and upper back, acid coming into mouth when bend in front or doing push-ups, could ate anything with no other problems.
Went to doctor and found H-pylori, received treatment for a week and during that week of treatment and a week after I was great....unfortunately the burning came back much more intense and more often.
06 Aug. received Lansoprazol 30 mg/day, doing great to OK.
30 Aug. Endoscopy test performed. Found Hiatal Hernia with Reflux and irritated oesophagus, he said that the one place biopsy from stomach showed NO more H-pylori and I should continue with Lansoprazol for another 4 weeks.
In less than three weeks after endoscopy, with 42 days of Lansoprazol medication worst than before going to the doctor in the first place, before any kind of attention or treatment.
Now I have ...on and off...pain on the chest and back, warm/moderate burning on the lower and upper back (more intense on the right side back) sore back and abdomen, burning sole, pain in arms and sometime hips, warm in the belly/intestine, not comfortable to lift things heavier that 1kg, burning on the neck, salt taste in the mouth, burping even after a glass of water, some sort of problem with the nose (like frozed state) eyes are watery/itch/burn.
Lost trust in doctors long time ago, looking for alternative solutions.
Look like IF the burning pain from before was from reflux - after the eradication of H-pylori the reflux is much more intense.

Jessica,
Thank you for your answer, seems like symptoms of Reflux?
I was reading last night reports saying that after H-pylori eradication Reflux could kick in...and also that accupuncture and herbs (TCM) can adjust the inbalance.

Nexium seems to make many worse. I asked my chemist (pharmacist ) and he said omeprazole ( prilosec ) was far easier to take and closest to the mega-expensive prescription without most of the side effects such as upset stomah ,headache and dizziness. I'm prsently doing the antibiotices and the omeprazole after a ruptured duoenal ulcer which had NO classic symptoms right up until a week before it ruptured.
PPIs are extremely hard on the stomach, I intend to finish the course and then try mastic gum as all but one study has found it effective for eradication of H. Pylori. I would still absolutely urge proper medical attention, many of you have all sorts of stuff I do not and you may also have other nfections, bacterial and viral which need treatment. the key is to find a doctor who's both aware of H pylori and who is no averse to non-chemical methods.
I have no triggers and no acid reflux for what it amy be worth. I will be tested tomorrow to see if the treament has been effective, only got out of hospital last week.
PLEASE have everyone you know tested, it is passed by kissing, probably through oral sex due to proximity of where it exits, through sharing food and drink with infected and through tainted water. half the world is infected, only 20% will the infected develop ulcer of any form but other side effects are legion and most resemble simple aging such arthritis that isn't actulallu the real condition, fatigue, insomnia, skin conditions. it pparently can cause or excaerbate glaucoma as well. It may well be at the botom of what is called Chronic fatigue syndrome. all i know is since treatment I have towering energy levels again, concentration cleared, I am sleeping well, my acne is all but disappeared, my arrythmia is nearly undectable now, my arthritis is so reduced I feel as I'd stepped back in time twenty years, my body fluids, which had been thick and drying for years are all clear and normal again, I am interested in food again, and I look a decade younger by the direct words of all who have seen me since nd by evidence of the mirror.

I still experience back and right side pain right below rib cage. I'm h pylori free since June 2011, gallbladder is properly working. Lost 30 lbs in 2 months, my appetite is back however I still watch what I eat as I was left with gastritis, I noticed that I'm not able to gain weight and still have sigs of malnutrition on my lips, nothing noticeable as when I first got sick. Has anyone experienced anything similar? Sometimes I think I'm going crazy, please reply. Thanks.

I tested positive for H pylori in June, 2011 and my doc put me on the triple therpy, i did it and finish my meds even though it was a painful journey and after taking them i felt abit better for awhile but he October my stomach started burning again on the left side sometime on the right, sometime n my leftside, sometime even my back, burping, gas, nausea, growling of the stomach, reflux, acne, anxiety attack (my symptoms) and all those symptoms came back so i went back to my doc thinking i still had this bacteria in my stomach but my stool test came back negative but i do now believe that after eradication you are left with a chronic effect of the bacteria which is gastritis which some ppl may continue to have it for the rest of their lives. We have to change the way we eat too ppl as you will understand that some food aggrevate the damage stomach lining more. Since having this bacteria i have done alot of research to educate myself.

I truly appreciate all the postings. I was feeling very nauseous, very fatigued, generally unwell, on and off for several months. Also had weird rash on lower legs, chills but no fever. Finally after second trip to doctor, had bloodwork and was diagnosed with h pylori. Am on day 11 of 14 of therapy, tetracycline, flagyl, omeprazole, and 8 peptobismols a day. Also need immodium. This has been one of the absolute worst times for me. Feel awful, very depressed, weepy. Have been unable to work. Has anyone felt so bad that they cannot work?

Thank you, Muslim, for your detailed reply. I truly appreciate it. I did have an endoscopy last March 2011, was told I had a stomach polyp, nothing else. It was in a surgery center and I was not sure how clean the scopes really were. Part of me wonders if I didn't get h pylori from the scope. I have lost 9 lbs. but I haven't been eating much, no appetite. I had my gallbladder removed many years ago and they ruled out pancreatits through bloodwork. The thing that really has me upset is the extreme fatigue, still have a rash on my legs. I think some of the fatigue is due to the side effects of the helidac therapy for h pylori however I was fatigued before I started it also. I want desperately to find out why I feel this way but the doctor does not seem to know. Running more labwork today and will see a dermatologist this afternoon to look at the rash.

Hi Bobbie NJ

Extreme fatigue with rash can be caused by hepatitis , autoimmune disease ,...ect

Who old are you?
Is there change of color of urine or stool ?
Do you have any chronic disease?

Alot of things I need to ask

Thanks again, Muslim. I am 55 years old, female. I am a registerd nurse and work fulltime although not been working the last 2 weeks. I have lost 10 lbs over the last month. Liver and pancreatic enzymes were normal. I have Mitral Valve Prolapse, Irritable Bowel syndrome, and possible Fibromyalgia. Otherwise no chronic disease. Urine and stool color did darken with helidac therapy, pepto bismol, just stopped that 3 days ago, urine clear but stool still black/green. They are checking my blood now for autoimmune, lupus, rechecking CBC, sjogrens, don't have the results yet. Feeling slightly better but still very tired. Rash on legs started 4 weeks ago, at first it looked petechial and my lower legs hurt when I applyed lotion for a few days, then rash changed and became itchy, then faded but now more rash on entire both legs which was biopsied by dermatology thursday evening. He thought it looked like a vasculitis. Will find out biopsy result next week. I am very depressed and worried. Thanks again for your caring responses.
