Hi, does anyone know if HP can cause hair loss, or folic acid deficiency? Am feeling quite bloated and have the usual symptoms of HP (have been tested positive twice before), but have just had blood tests done which show folate deficiency.
hi jan! I too have had significant hair loss. I am a hairdresser and theres nothin worse than losing your hair (except for HP) I also have a hiatle hernia and GERD to boot! Im so depressed because of the weight gain. Its hard to exercise because it can make the reflux and the stomach pain worse. I am taking NEXIUM and go back tomorrow to follow up with the Dr. Its kind of a relief to hear Im not alone! And that im not going crazy and that there is a reason for this weight gain. After treatment... does the bloating and the weightgain go away????

I'm seeing my Dr. tomorrow, for nausea and extreme fatigue. I've already had an ultra-sound and it shows nothing wrong with my abdominal organs. I've seen an Endocrinologist who tested all my hormones and they seem normal. I'm going to ask about HP, perhaps that is what is causing my nausea, fatigue, and weight problems. I also have interupted sleep. Can that be a symptom too?
Thanks

Disturbed sleep!!! It's 8am and I've been away since 4 in awful pain. I often wake early, sometimes 2am and find it hard to get back to sleep. I'm generally a very good sleeper.
I am usually also a very positive person but it's making me feel worried and depressed like there HAS to be something else going on because I feel so bad. I've had a few good days, just the awful nausea on waking and some during the day, so I though I was beating it. But yesterday was awful and it carried on all through the night. A little live goats milk with manuka honey at 5am helped a little but not enought to relieve the pain. I NEVER cry but this darn thing is truly getting me down x

I was just informed I have the HP bacteria. I do have some pain in the left side of my back along with the left side in front. It's more of a tight dull pain though

Do you mind me asking where the rashes appear and what they look like? I noticed one also and the itching.

My rash only appeared following the initial infection. They were like blusters and were very sore, like a burn, and itches like mad. They would come and go and appear in different areas each time, eg forearms, next time inner thighs, next time abdomen. They were always preceded by an itching sensation either on the palms of my hands or the soles of my feet. That was my indication that the rash was about to start again. I was taking 14 steroids a day and 4 anti histimines, but nothing worked. I believe in was a severe allergic reaction to the h pylori infection.

Hope this helps

I was just diagnosed (finally) last weekend by my Holistic doctor. I had 2 endoscopies done with biopsies that did not show the bacteria, only some mild gastritis. My holistic Dr performed some skin tests, and my arm blew up from H Pylori and a few other digestive "bugs". I am now taking drops in the morning, and mastic gum in between meals. I have had the crushing chest pains, mild reflux, chest burn, muscle cramps, fatigue, and other weird things.

It has only been a few days on treatment, but I feel pretty good today so far. I also take iFlora after the drops in the morning.

Today my nausea is absolutely horrible !!!
I saw this program on Dr. Oz the other day, where a woman had nausea for months that couldn't be helped by medicine. Turns out she died of a Heart Attack at the age of 47. I guess nausea can also be a sign of heart problems. I have an appt with Gastro next Weds. Maybe I need to see my heart Dr. too !!!!

I was wondering if anyone had a low grade fever when or before the were diagnosed with H pylori. I have had a low grade fever for almost a month now but have had chest pain for over 6 months now. All my doctors told me that it was my gallbladder so I went and had that removed, well I am still having the same symptoms as before. I go and have my testing done on Monday. I hope that they find out something. I have had heart tests like EKG's, CT's of my heart and enzymene tests done. All came back normal. I am scared> I recently was diagnosed with anixety problems because I am so afraid that I am going to die. Was put on Xanex for this. Have been taking Nexium for a while now and it seems to help some days. I can not wait to get my results back.

Hi Christina
I had had to wear a heart monitor as i developed an irregular heart beat and i had to wear a blood pressure monitor as my BP was very high. They wanted me on BP pills but i wasn't going down that route so i 'took a grip', did relaxation and mditation - heart rate regulated and BP normal. I undersatnd entirely where you are coming from, allsorts of morbid thought enter your mind increasing anxiety, this is a result ofthe raised cortisol which can be an efect of H Pylori. If you can find some way to relax and think more positively you will improve your health greatly, bugs like HP love stress as it means your immune system becomes weakend. Build yourself up and let you body start the fight. I am begining to get some benefit now from the manulka UMF +20 and mastic gum.

well, I had to go to my Dr. again. The nausea is so bad. He switched me to another anti-nausea medication called Reglan. That seems to be helping along with Align.
My appt with the Gastroenterologist was moved to next Saturday. I'm praying I do have H-Pylori.
At least it can be treated.

I'm new to this post and came across it while searching for people like myself who suffer from HP bacteria. I know i will be pretty much repeating what a lot of you said but here it goes. For quite a few years now i have had these crashing chest pains that will come out of nowhere. They are so bad that even breathing hurts. They will last no longer than 2-3 minutes and go away. Then, about 2 years ago, i started having acid-reflux-like symptoms. It feels like a ball is stuck in my throat (the best way i can describe it is when you eat an egg or a potato too fast without any liquids you get that same "something is stuck in my throat" feeling). It's hard for me to burp, and sometimes i have to either sit up straight or get up in order to be able to burp, however when i finally do, i get a sense of relief for just a few seconds. Some things make it much worse for me: alcohol, caffeine, cranberry juice (believe it or not) and some other stuff as well. Every morning i wake up with an extremely sore throat and VERY bad breath. Around the same time i started getting, what i ve learned later, eye floaters. That freaked me out and when i figured out that "those weird things in my eyes" weren't going away, i ran to an eye doctor, who assured me that my eyes were perfectly healthy and that eye-floaters are just one of those things you can get for no apparent reason.(I didnt put two and two together until reading one of the posts today).
Lately, i noticed that i'm losing much more hair than normal. Other symptoms like nausea, constipation/diarrhea, not sleeping well, fatigue, hot/cold flashes, etc. are also there. see next post please

One of the other major concerns is my psychological well-being. I was one of the most laid-back mellow people you can ever meet; nothing used to bother me enough to stress myself out, however ever since the bacteria i dont recognize myself. I am extremely short-tempered; everything, and i mean every little thing, bothers me and gets to me. And everything seems SO much worse around me. I spent almost ALL these past 2 years "thinking up" what COULD be wrong with me. I take every symptom i have and turn it into a major illness/disease. It's unwarranted and these stupid thoughts come from absolutely nowhere and yet itís the only thing i can think about. It's the first thing on my mind when i open my eyes and the last when i close them. I'm realizing that i am getting depressed and it affects everyone and everything around me. I wish i could help it, stop thinking about it, but it's almost impossible. I'm relieved to learn that i am not the only one, and that it's the HP that causes these irrational thoughts.
One more thing that started happening is my urine became (what feels like) very acidic. I might be wrong, but thats exactly how i can best describe it. It feels super hot when i go to the bathroom and seemed to be much less acidic when i consume a lot of liquid. So enough with the symptoms, i went to a Dr. and tested positive for HP. I was prescribed the triple therapy, which did NOT work for me. 6 months later i went back to my Dr. and she prescribed another triple therapy, which did NOT work again. I went back a few weeks later and said (against my Dr. suggestions) that i wanted a quadruple therapy (which included levofloxacin - an extremely strong antibiotic that is given to people who come in contact with anthrax i ve been told) I tried that and that did NOT work for me.So 2 years and many many meds later i am still suffering from this parasite. I dont know whether or not there is hope for me so if there is someone whos been through it like myself, i would really appreciate a response. Also, if you have the same problem with "acidic urine" please let me know.
My insurance doesnt kick in til jan, which is when i am planning to see a gastroenterologist and undergo endoscopy in hopes that THERE IS something that could be done for me. I'm a newlywed and so ready for a baby and this bacteria is stopping me from becoming a mommy.

Wow!! I hve just been soworried that it is all that I can think about. I went for my tests this morning and I amhoping for a positive result. I know that sounds so weird but it is true. I want to know what it is that is going on with me. I feel horrible all the time. I have been staying active though. Working atmy kids school and so forth. The waking up in the middle of the night with HORRIBLE acid reflux and pains in my upper left and right and middle chest areas. IT is amazing how much those pains hurt. It is scarey as well. You do not know what it wrong with you and you just pray that you are going to make it through the rest of the night. You do not want to wake anyone up cause you do not want to bother them or worry them but at the same time you do not want to be all alone. It is like you are in between a rock and a hard place with yourself. When all this firt started the said that my blood pressure was to high and they did put me on meds. Well I do not have high blood pressure and that only made me sicker. Now my blood pressure is normal. It is just my choleserol that is not. I am working on that though. It was like I was a care free person that did not let anything bother me one day and then the next I felt like I was a crazy prson and my entire family thought so as well. Thanks for contacting me back. It is nice to know that I am not all alone.

Dont worry about the comment posting. It happens to us all. I had to comment on your post though about the acid urine. I have the same thing. It is like it is so hot sometimes. Mainly when I am not drinking over 80 ounces of fluid a day. I can feel it and it s scarey. I do not have the eye floaters which I am greatful for but I do get dizzy easy. I play it off in front of my family and friends casue I do not want them to bother them. They are worried enough. I am so sorry that this is getting in the way of you having a baby. That must be awful. I am sure that when you get on your insurance you will feel so much better. I do not remember but do you have anixety problems that have come along with this. That is something that I have very badly. I used to be full of life and did not let anything bother me until this happened. Now I am woried all the time that something is going to happen to me. It was funny when I went to the doctor and told them about my anixet problems the first question that they have to ask is do you have the urge to kill or hurt yourself. I looked at her weirdly and said NO I am terified of dying. She kinda smiled and said that she understood and was the first one that said that I needed to get checked for h pylori but then my regualr doc would not check me until today. I am looking forward to getting the results. I know that it seems weird to say but I hope that I have this. At least then I will know what it is that is wrong with me.

Hi, Christina. Thank you for commenting back. I'm sorry to say this, but i am relieved to hear that Iím not the only one with the ďacidic urineĒ. With my paranoia (as I mentioned in my first post), I started to think that there must be something GYN going on, but giving the ďacidityĒ feel of it I was trying to sway myself towards blaming the HP bacteria for it. You absolutely right in that I can FEEL when itís gonna be too ďhotĒ and almost get scared to go to a restroom.
I really hope everything goes the way you wish it to go with your tests. Do you have any other physical symptoms (besides the ones you ve described)? Do certain things irritate you more so than others and cause more pain? Like in my case itís caffeine and alcohol?
