ChloeK,
Are you feeling better or do you still have the same symptoms? Or are your syomptoms gone?

Thanks for asking. I am actually feeling much better. My heart doesn't race as much. My rib, back, and chest pains have gone away. I don't get nervous/anxious as much. My stomach feels sooo much better and I don't have that nauseating feeling anymore. The only feeling I have is when I lay down the medicine leaves a really bad/bitter taste in my mouth.

Was diagnosed with H. Pylori by my Gastroenterologist last summer 2011. I have to be honest, I think without his intervention I might be dead now or at least have colon, gastric or some other form of cancer..

I wasn't having bm's, had constant and very aggravating gas, lots of problems with ovarian cysts, hair loss, discoloring of skin (I became several shades darker with clear lines of hyper pigmentation - one being a perfectly defined "bikini" tan line though I always wore full articles of clothing fully covering my skin). Specialist to specialist failed to diagnose what I described suffering from (derm, OB, etc.).

Finally my fam doc. sent me to the GI doc. When I described my symptoms he scheduled me for a Colonoscopy. The day of the procedure he told me he was going to perform a "scope". The results from bio tests resulted in his staff hunting me down to inform me of the infection (but thank God no polyps) and placing me on a two week antibiotic therapy.

After the 14 day cocktail, I've tried going holistic with much success with licorice root & ginger tea along with Organo Gold Coffee whose main ingredient/selling point is Ganoderma Lucidum. The ganoderma product took it to the next level! I cramped and ran constantly to the toilet. Gross, but the rot H. Pylori makes was being excavated out of my body and body tissues!

H. Pylori affected me by causing a huge cortisol trigger, de-oxygenation of my blood (and obviously cells), toxic body reaction creating a cellulitic response, anemia (not pernicious yet, but not that far away either). Hitting me hard in all the areas I can't chance as I carry the gene for Hemoglobin C in the Sickle Cell tree (What physicians won't tell you is: many people whith these so called "traits" struggle with low immunity even if they did not inherit the full disease. Just ask me and my two sons who have the trait and my healthy-as-a-mule-daughter who doesn't); I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian disorder; I have low blood pressure, endometriosis and fibroids - just to name a few.

Haven't the slightest idea where this came from, but have always had stomach/constipation/food issues since a small child. Mom smoked/drank (back in the day folks did thinking nothing of it), had 8 children, but I was the only abnormal delivery (breech) and sickly. So don't know which came first - the chicken or the egg.

Still, have to count this discovery as a blessing - it's all leading me down a better path. Though I don't drink much (glass of wine here and there couple of times a year), smoke and live a holistic lifestyle filled with meditation, Naturopathic remedies, etc. I'm learning more and more, slowly unraveling the cord.

Lately, I started gaining weight back (around the middle as cortisol targets this area), concerned about effects on cardio health. Need a firmer grasp on this as I suppose therapy has to be life long. Skin is still bad (One of the first areas it attacked was the beautiful, clear complexion I once had. Back then, 6 years ago, I didn't know what had hit me! My thick, lustrous hair fell, microscopic bugs felt like they were excavating my face and my pigmentation changed. Also I suffered a lot with Candida infections originally thinking it the root cause.) Now I know it was the beginning of the outbreak). Left leg being really impacted by the cellulite with veins being damaged (more impact of H.P.).

Doc after doc couldn't help and believe me I'm sure most thought I was psycho, lol! Just hung in there, kept learning. My youngest is only 7. Can't let this take me out or pass to my child. I am fighting back.

Die off is big, but reinfection (Quite a bit hidden deep down because my stomach and legs had cellulite craters only recently as the symptoms deepened and progressed). My latest treatment of Gano+licorice forced improvement; now doing turmeric+Cayenne variations. My tummy looked six months pregnant and got bigger each month prior to discovery. Nicole,

I noticed you said that you are not far from pernicious anemia. How much is your b12 levels? By the way is your h pylori gone now? Did you have stomach pains with it and how long did you have the symptoms before you were finally diagnosed with h pylori?

I thought that I was the only one with these "mystery" symptoms! I have the same thing Noeleen describes...rash, swollen lips, weight gain, soreness, etc, and in addition, I also have unexplained hunger and hunger pains (even 30 minutes after eating), gas, sore throat and difficulty swallowing, extreme fatigue, nausea, and a constant need to clear my throat as well. I am seeing an allergist, and I'm currently being treated with allergy shots (not for food allergies), but he never suggested H Pylori as a possibility or tested me. I will have to find out if this could be my problem.
Try going gluten-free. I had all of the same symptoms. Noticed a difference after one week gluten free. Good luck.

<quoted text>. Where can you get manuka honey, can I only buy it online?
Only buy Manila that has a UMF rating, that is produced and packed in new Zealand, I used Comvita. Otherwise you cannot guarantee it will have the components necessary to health and well being. Health food stores, boots chemist (England) Holland and Barratt stock it.

By the way, the HP is gone and I feel great!!

SOOOOOO EXHAUSTED !!!!!!!!!!

hey guys I know quite a few people have mentioned their fatigue, what level of fatigue are people having with HP, For about 8 months i have been un able to function with less than 12 hours sleep a day, and most usually even more. Still after these long sleeps Im still so tired during the day and get horrible headaches and acid reflux and diarrea, the doctor at first thought i was depressed, then low iron. I started getting panic attacks 2 months ago and bad pains in stomach. I had the up and down cameras and found out that i do have HPylori. had the tripl treatment and felt good for about 2-3 days while on the antibiotics but everything has just come back.. is anyone else this tired?????????? Also my doctor says that the infection shouldnt be cause such extreme exhaustion. But from these posts it would seem that it might.. Has any one elses doctors been just terrible with this illness......

HELPPPPPPPP, i want my life back..!!!:(

I think many people posting here are mis interpreting on placing emphasis or blame on h pylori infection for a huge range of largely unconnected symptoms. Perhaps 50% of people are infected with h pylori and the truth is in most people it causes no problems at all. For those that it does cause problems it causes symptoms centred around stomach ulcer type symptoms - there's a good list of typical symptoms here http://www.checkmybody.co.uk/stomachulcer.htm . You should avoid self medicating with manuka honey and the like because if you do have an ulcer then this can be potentially very serious and needs treating by your doctor (simple course of anti biotics usually does the trick). Moreover infection by h pylori has definately been linked to stomach cancer so there is another good reason to see your doctor and get rid of it properly. Recent research has also statistically connected h pylori infection with an increased incidence of type 2 diabetes or insulin resistance. More work needs doing on this but this has potentially massive implications.

Is this for real? Are you serious? in two days? How did you come across this remedy? How are you so sure it took only 2 days? Did you do a blood, stool or breath test after to ensure it is gone? That is amazing!

YES! I definitely had it. At times thought I was going to have a heart attack. It would sometime run from left shoulder right down the entire arm. Burning pains under the breat/ribcage as well.

Aloha - Just to let you know that I too have battled h-pylori on and off for years. Have used Mastica in the past but to be effective it means 4 pills twice a day for 2 months. I had started on this treatment again when I happened to go into the health food store and was told to try Coconut Oil--2 tbs every 2 hours at first and then I cut back to just taking it in the morning. Because it can taste 'weird' I add lemon juice to the 2 tbs. and it is reasonably edible then; my symptoms have been alleviated and am feeling much better. I do feel some nausea shortly after taking this but hoping this is just the coil killing the live h-pylori. Don't know how long I will need to take this but will begin easing off to every other day and then once a week and see what happens. The health food store told me that it wipes out the h-pylori; don't know about that but definitely the symptoms are gone and hopefully so are the bugs. And yes, I tried antibiotic treatment a few years ago and it made me ill but had to persevere. Don't want to do that again if I can avoid it. Good luck!

I have had terrible digestive problems without any other symptoms, my dr. put through numerous tests before a simple blood test showed that i had h pylori. I was treated with the prevacid and 2 antibiotics. that was about 4 years ago, now my symptoms are returning should this happen to a person more than once, and does anyone know how to prevent it? Everyone im around on a daily basis in my family has been tested and come back negative. If you can help or give advice thanks in advance!
Yes you can have it flare up again- after my third round of meds over two year time; I have since been symptom free for 8 years.

I was recently tested and treated for H. Pylori. The symtoms I had where not typical. In fact, my symtoms baffled doctors and eluded diognosis for years. The following are a list of the symtom I had from the H. Pylori infection:
1. Muscal viseculation
2. Fatigue
3. Hypokalemia
4. Hypertention
5. GI symtoms like IBS
These where my biggist complaints. They interfered with my ability to fuction on a daily basis.
Since I have been treated and H. Pylori is no longer active I have felt better and the symtoms listed above have all nearly disappeared.
I have diagnosed with H. Pylori - what course of antibiotics did you take and how long ago were you treated.

How your treatment worked?
Are you better?
Every 2 hours seems a lot of coconut oil? how many times a day for how many days?
Can you tell more exact how you had the coconut oil?
Thank you
