thanks for the reply ! i have handed a stool sample to the doc and have got to wait for the results a week on friday and i know it sounds silly but i hope and pray that its hp other wise i'm at a dead end, all the signs are more clear to be honest i've been eating food individuality instead of making meals and the reaction to all the foods that are good and bad for hp are different i mean for 2 days i ate the probio sort of things and apples ect and the next day ate all thing it didn't like, and what i found was a big change for the 2 day i was eating lets say the good stuff,,, the chest pains subsided and gas was easy to get out and more offen when i ate bread, milk, beacon, ect,,, the chest pains came back about 10 mins after finishing my meal the gas was stuck and tasted like acid when i burped the only problem is that the cupboards are full but not with the good things :-( i'm running out of friendly foods !! i put the link in my last post that has helped me find the food that HP likes and dislikes it really helped me over the last few day, now i know what my tummy can have and one other thing when eating the good foods after the 2 days some of my energy had returned the best i've felt in a long time !!! well worth a look !! all the factors considered it looks like it may well be HP that i have but i will not know for sure until i get my results back on the 17th. i so want to feel good again! if it is HP i could have had it for nearly 7 year and at every turn the docs have over looked it and if is not there is still an underlying problem that has not been found.
Hi Shane... hopefully you will have your results but if it's negative don't give up, I was on triple therapy last year and when I finished it the symptoms were still there, I went back to my doctor and told him that I didnt feel it had cleared he told me just to keep taking omeprazole, in the end I changed my doctors, she sent a stool test off and it came back negative, I told her I wasnt happy because I knew it was still there she sent me for an endoscopy which was a few moments then when the results came back she was shocked I did have HP so I was put on triple theraphy again, this time apart from the lousy metalic taste I got I felt much better I also took probiotic acidphilus with pectin which I bought at Holland and Barrett this replaces the good bacteria destroyed by the anti biotics and I still take them today they certainly seem to help I still take omeprazole daily but I feel fine, you can eat vegetables which hp dont like such as brocolli but do a search on the net and you can get answers on the net as to which foods are best, it is depressing in the begining but it does get better.

I was recently tested and treated for H. Pylori. The symtoms I had where not typical. In fact, my symtoms baffled doctors and eluded diognosis for years. The following are a list of the symtom I had from the H. Pylori infection:
1. Muscal viseculation
2. Fatigue
3. Hypokalemia
4. Hypertention
5. GI symtoms like IBS

These where my biggist complaints. They interfered with my ability to fuction on a daily basis.
Since I have been treated and H. Pylori is no longer active I have felt better and the symtoms listed above have all nearly disappeared.

I was tested for H-pylori & it was positive about a year and a half ago...I have been taking Align, they are probiotics that put the good bacteria back in your digestive system. Seems like they have been doing the trick, they are not cheap though, I go to either Sam's Club or Costco & one box is around $40.00, Culturelle is another good brand!!!!These cannot hurt you, no side effects, drug free, holistic approach!!!

You know what is very interesting in my battle against this bug? Before my first H Pylori attack, I was 3 weeks coming off an Appendectomy. In recent studies, the Appendix has been linked to bacterial growth within the digestive system. It could be complete coincidence, but I cannot help but wonder if once my Appendix was removed, it somehow trigged an H Pylori overgrowth.
In any case, I am 4 days off my treatment now and still feel like crap. I get re-tested in four weeks, but I suspect the treatment failed.
What baffles me is what people did before H Pylori was discovered? Live miserable lives until they died?

I just wanted to share a really important piece of information. I've suffered with H.pylori for 5months before it was properly diagnosed and even after treatment I've suffered with issues that were caused by h.pylori, until now.

The first time I was tested it came back negative because the bacteria culture hadn't grown in size enough to show the problem. After I was diagnosed and treated with antibiotics I was told to go back and get another test for H.pylori in three months to make sure it was gone. So I'm guessing that three months after the symptoms start is the key date where it can be seen in the blood.

Throughout the whole event and until just recently I've had seriously stiff joints, my brain has been foggy and my heart has been hurting, and I've suffered from serious fatigue, all of which started about a month into h.pylori taking over my stomach. These symptoms continued even after the antibiotics. Since then, I've been tested for everything and even tried a natropath to no avail. I have just recently found the cause and felt compelled to share it with the internet world as I haven't seen the answer to my problem anywhere. H.Pylori's favorite meal is potassium!!! It has usurped all of the potassium from my system which apparently only happens with medications or disease and that's why my doctor didn't pick up on it. I only figured this out when someone told me to try drinking apple cider vinegar for my joint problem. And within 24hrs my joints stopped aching and I could think clearly! It's been months of frustration but I'm feeling I've finally found the leg up I've been needing.

The recipe is this : 2-3 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar in 1cup of water once daily. There are also recipes where you can put 2-3 tsp of honey in. I've found the Braggs company to have the most nutritious form of vinegar. A side note here, don't do this if you have h.pylori still in your system, they'll just feed off of it and your stomach will probably feel worse.

So there you have it, I really hope this is helpful to some of you, it's an article I wish I had seen months ago!(:

Think i had h-pylori in my system for some years and caused me loads of bother, such as fatigue, hunger pangs, acid reflux, low mood, lack of energy, feverish feeling like flushed. Stomach making weird noises and bloated stomach. On antibiotic therapy and must say feeling alot better and relaxed.

Its a nasty bug to have in the system, and causes many issues to some people.

Hopefully get this sorted.

I think DMD3, in order for you and some other people on this forum to experience the symptons we have, my educated guess is either or both had H Pylori for a very long time (5+ years plus) or the concertration of the bacteria must have been very high. I come to this conclusion as after the Gastroscopy as matter of routine biopsies are taken to test for the H Pylori, and the nurse said my sample had turned positive within couple of minutes and normally would have take a few hours. So am taking a educated guess must have been a high concertation of H pylori in my system, along with the symptons being quite severe to have had this bacteria quite a number of years.

I hope you feel better, but even if you are taking all these supplements and don't change the type of food you eat, the result may not be much. You can try the alkaline diet and see if this works.

Hi guys been on treatment for h pylori four five days.....other then nausea I already feel so much better.haven't felt bloated for five days but have come off gluten and dairy, no coffee etc and feel better just doing that. If I get rid of this bloody bacteria I have decided to stay on the gluten free diet, haven't missed bread, pasta etc as it always made me feel like crap anyway. I was just diagnosed (finally) last weekend by my Holistic doctor. I had 2 endoscopies done with biopsies that did not show the bacteria, only some mild gastritis. My holistic Dr performed some skin tests, and my arm blew up from H Pylori and a few other digestive "bugs". I am now taking drops in the morning, and mastic gum in between meals. I have had the crushing chest pains, mild reflux, chest burn, muscle cramps, fatigue, and other weird things.
It has only been a few days on treatment, but I feel pretty good today so far. I also take iFlora after the drops in the morning.
Hi, endoscopies can miss h pylori? I thought those were supposed to be accurate. May I ask what drops were you using and how effective was the mastic gum for you? Did it work at all and did you have any adverse reactions to it?

The first time I had h. pylori I told my doctor that Gremlins were fighting in my tummy. My husband could actually see my abdomen twitching-- like I was pregnant. I think I have it back again and am not looking forward to the treatment. My doctor and pharmacy told me the treatment would be worse than the disease. It was really trying. But, it is also trying to have intense stomach pain followed by bouts of diarrhea and vomitting undigested smelly food that I ate 2 or 3 days ago. It is so disgusting to have this.

I too have been fighting h pylori and I am fed up. After searching on the internet I was suprised to find how many people have it and that Im not alone in my suffering. I was diagnosed with it after my regular doctor misread my symptoms as a gallbladder attack...he did nothing after the sonogram results came back fine..just put me on prilosec. I got fed up and went to another doctor who listened to my symptoms and in 5 minutes had the blood test results.
Now it is 10 months later and Im on my third round of antibiotics...this time stronger and making some terrible side affects! I just want to lay around and cry because I feel so bad. What am I to do if this doesnt work?
What you need to do is read about mastic gum ...get the capsules..at your health food store ..also enzymatic therapy sugar free deglycerinated licorice..mastic gum does lower your blood pressure though so be careful...if you have a clinical nutritionist available to you then also see her...the results of this game from reading are fantastic...

Jess,

Wish I had an answer for you. I know how you feel and I am very confused why after taking the antibiotics, I still have all the symptoms you have, plus that septic, burning rubber, metallic taste and smell.

Prayer and seeking God, has helped me.

Larry,

When the bacteria dies it very often leaves a metallic taste in your mouth so that could be the reason. Also for many persons even after getting rid of h pylori, they still have acid reflux and or gastritis for a period and it takes some time for the stomach to heal. So be patient, continue to eat healthy and ensure you get retested to see if the bacteria has gone.
