Hi,
Just found this website. About 10 months ago I started gaining weight, about 15 pounds that no diet or exercise could take off. 6 months ago I began feeling tired, more than normal. 5 months ago I got a sinus infection and was put on antibiotics and felt a little better for a week or so and then tired again. 4 months ago I began feeling anxiety and having night sweats, acid reflux, and gas. Then 3 months ago it went full blown with panic (especially at night), heart palpitations and skipped beats, extreme fatigue, pain in the center of my back that radiated down my arms and into my chest, asthma symptoms, looked pale and tired and much older, dry hair and nails,a feeling of something being stuck in my throat, and a swollen and burning stomach. This lead me to several doctors; cardioligist, gynecologist, allergy and asthma doctor, general practicioners, etc... I was tested for hormone inbalances, asthma, heart problems, allergy problems, blood sugar, thyroid, etc.. It showed that I did have problems with my heart and lungs but there was no answer. Finally I arrived in the emergency insta care and a doctor took one look at me and sent me to the hospital the next morning for an upper gi. It showed extreme damage to the stomach lining and that the villi was flattened. Samples were taken from my stomach and proved to have h pilori - and blood work showed extreme low iron FINALLY an answer. I took the triple therapy faithfully, cut out gluten, dairy, soy, and sugar. I take licorce drops, mastic gum, pro biotics, and eat pine nuts and broccli or broccli sprouts twice daily. I could not live without the broccoli, it can take the symptoms away with 15 minutes. I had progressed to only being able to drink vitamin shakes for the spasms and pain was so severe. It has been 3 weeks since I ended the medicine and now have tested negative for h pilori, however the symptoms still remain (but much less of a degree and I am able to get through the day normally). I have lost the weight and feel so much better. I am being told it will take 6 months to 1 year to heal the damage done. Just wanted to let anyone out there know that the symptoms can be odd, especially at first. It start as fatigue or effect your heart first and not seem like stomach issues at all. Good luck.

Sorry to hear you are having such pain. I may be wrong but I believe a biopsy may come back negative if they don't manage to get the actual area where the pylori is located. I think a more accurate test is a stool test. If your blood test was positive then you definitely have had pylori and if you have not been treated for it I would strongly suspect that you still have it as I don't believe it ever goes away of its own accord. I would strongly recommend you ask for a stool test and go from there...

Oh Colleen we could be twins! I was on antibiotics twice this year for sinus problems, most recently at the end of October. Developed severe stomach pains and weird palpitations when I ate - stopped taking the antibiotics.

During November felt really sluggish, went to see Dr who said "What do you want me to do about it?" Was in ER 3 days later with excruciating chest pain. Diagnosed with esophageal spasm, given a PPI and sent home. Took the PPI for 5 days and the stomach pain was unbearable. Have had a myriad of weird symptoms since then: diarrhoea, horrible chest pain, fatigue, anxiety, tingling arms (this has been a weird symptom I've had for months), esophagus has been in spasm a number of times, did have nausea but that has since cleared up, have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks, headache, dizziness... I have never felt so sick for so long. Before this flare up I've had two other episodes over the last 4 years of similar symptoms but no GI problems. It's just been vague feelings of being unwell and the tachycardia especially if I drank coffee.

In the last four years I've had anemia, B12 deficiency, weird rash on my hands and arms (thought it was from a dog I adopted) and a weird feeling of being hungry when I knew I wasn't. I've also been put on anti-depressants and have been to numerous therapists and have dumped a bunch of friends because I am so irritable and everyone pisses me off, lol. Normally I'm pretty easy going - I really haven't been myself lately.

I am scheduled for the H pylori test on Tuesday and can hardly wait for the results - I am looking forward to getting my life back.

Good luck to all in regaining their health and Happy Holidays

Yes, One of my first symptoms was chest pain, heart palpations, anxiety, a feeling of doom. After months of being sick, my last symptoms before being diagnosed, were stomach problems. It is different for everyone. Hang in there.

Dear Karen,
I just got back to looking at the website and saw your post. Oh, I feel for you so much. This H Pilori can simply change your life. I am hoping your test comes up negative and that things will get back to normal for you.
I have been told it may take 6 months to a year to heal the damage done to my stomach. I know the healing takes a long time, but as long as we are recovering, it is in the right direction.
I wish you luck.

Yes I have had severe chest pain between my breast bone and also pain in my back..I was releasted from the hospital today only to learn that I might have H Pllori..I am now awaiting pathology results...I have had chest pain off and on for over 5 years now..when I would go to the Doctor they would say I was having a heart attack and of course that was not the case...I went to a gastronterolology doctor a couple of days ago with serve chest and back pain and he admitted me into the hospital...the pain was so severe that morphine did not stop the pain...so if heart problems have been ruled out I suggest you find a doctor who will listen as I did...I hope that I have finally found out whats going on with me...I will keep you in my prayers

I know what you mean. I had bad breath and felt dizzy, too. I also had yeast infections over and over. Have you followed any kind of special diet this past year (like no sugar, etc..).
I have currently tested negative for H Pilori after taking all the antibiotics, but now I have an overgrowth of Bacteria A and am so sick again. I start on a new antibiotic to kill this new bacteria. Perhaps you may have the same thing. I took a three hour breath test to find out. Good luck I hope you feel better soon.

I am 20 years old and I have recently been dealing with this dreadful bacteria. I got diagnosed in the summer of 2010. I was getting allergy tests done and h. pylori showed up in my blood work. I was already on the antibiotics.. which made me sicker than ever. I followed through with the treatment. I than ignored the signs because i didn't want to visit the stomach doctor.. i don't do well with doctors.

I drank half a cup not even of apple cider and had to leave my math class. My mom came and picked me up but by the time she came my stomach stopped hurting. I get painful attacks towards my stomach.

I just want this to go away..
I have dropped weight to where its beginning to scare me.. it hurts to eat.. I am always tired.. and I know I can pig out but with this bacteria it's preventing me to eat as much as i could. I recently about a week ago took a carbon monoxide breath test, where I drink lemon juice stuff and wait half an hour and blow into a silver looking bag where the bacteria can get collected to see if the bacteria is still in my system?.. Still waiting to hear back for the results..
I recently about a we
hope anyone has any idea's or preventions? or anyone else having hte same issues ?? or tests ?

Hi, I have recently completed the two weeks of treatment for the H.pylori bacteria. After finishing the treatment the symptoms seem like they have gotten worse. I thought I was having a heart attack, I am experiencing a lot of heart burn, upset stomach, chest pain, and bloating. My symptoms have not subsided nor have they stop. No I no longer suffers from bad breath but I have the other problems. In the last week I have been hospitalize twice because I thought I was having a heart attack. It was the reactions from the treatment and the bacteria H. pylori. When will it ever stop.

Dear Rena,
You have been through so much and I feel for you. After I finished the antibiotic treatments for H Pilori, I felt better for a couple of weeks and then got sick all over again. I was given a breath test and told that I have a big overgrowth of the A Bacteria. I am now back on antibiotics to kill the bacteria. Can you ask for this test? I believe you have to wait 4 weeks after taking ANY antibiotics before you can have the test done. I still feel like I am going to have a heart attack - it is dreadful, and I am trying to stay as positive as I can, but some days I have to let down and cry a little. Please know that everyone here is thinking of you. I want to be my old self again - I know you do too. I am doing research everyday on the internet and will write anything new I find out that may help us. Will you do the same? I believe better days are coming.
Sincerely, Colleen

Colleen and rena you can email me if you wish. I cured myself of h pylori, it is now gone but I'm still not ok. I have been left with a hiatus hernia with symptoms of it's own but I have some tips on dealing with the after effects, maybe we could share ideas? Lesleycassell @ gmail . Com

I to have the h pylori bacteria, but I have found relief from all of the symptoms. Remember the bacteria prohibits the stomach from making acid. so by taking antiacids you are causing the symptoms to get even worse.the key to relief is putting acid back in the stomach.I take 1000mg of vitamin c which is ASCORBIC ACID. since taking vitamin c I no longer suffer from the symptoms caused by this bacteria
In response: This is horse crap! H Py doesn't prohibit the stomach from making acid, it thrives on acid!! You have to reduce stomach acid to eliminate it. Do your homework. Terrible advice.

HeyI have just underwent the triple threrapy for h-pylori and finished it 9 days ago. My symptoms - which were only nausea continues though to a lesser degree but still very much there. I am due to be retested via a breath test next week. For anyone who had h-pylori, how long did your symptoms continue? i understand my stomach needs to heel so im living on porridge, glutten free breads, yogurts etc. Im also taking DGL licourice root, mastic gum, manuka honey and just bought a probiotic supplement today. i dont think my doc will put me forward for a scope until the breath test results. Lesley I would be interested in learning more about your diet??

...any advice welcome
thanks
