I posted comments in July that my sister had passed away unexpectedly on June 19th. She had undergone some female surgery on May 13th. For the next 5 weeks she suffered from diahrrea, blood in her stools, severe abdominal pain and fever, difficulty urinating. The doctor's kept blowing her off....maybe it's the flu, maybe you have a touch of food poisining, you have a bladder infection.

2 days before she passed, my brother -in-law insisted they admitt her to the hospital. She had been experiencing diahrrea for over 10 days now. They refused her and told her she wasn't sick enough. They finally decided to take a stool sample. The day of her death, June 19th, there was a confirmed lab test result that she had "clostridium difficile" aka c.diff. It's common cause is bacteria from hospitals which she likely picked-up on May 13th when she had her surgery. During surgery, she was given an antibiotic, clindamycin as a preventative measure against infection. This is one of the strongest antibiotic's given. It not only killed the bad bacteria in her system but the good bacteria as well. The combination of the 2 resulted in my sister getting colitis. Because the doctors refused to offer any kind of imaging or lab tests until 2 days before she died, she had already slipped into the danger zone and it became fatal in her case.

You would think that when she ret'd to the doctor's 1 day after her surgery with all the symptoms associated with c. diff, someone should have realized that because this bacteria is commonly present in hospitals, along with the antibiotic clindamycin, administered during her surgery, that this might be cause to pursue the appropriate lab tests. Instead, they allowed the symptoms to continue, all the while having this toxic reaction to the antibiotic.

My brother-in-law has retained an attorney. It was the attorney who reviewed and digested 6 weeks of medical reports, that was able to "connect the dots" and determine what was happening to my sister's health during those last 5 weeks.

We still have not received the autopsy from our local coroner but I am confident that their findings will be the same.

My deepest condolences on the loss of your sister. This sounds so tragic and unnecessary. Words cannot heal but hopefully time will help you come to terms with your sad loss x

I think this is absolutely shocking, it makes me think how many times i myself and a lot of members of this site have been turned away or fobbed off by the medical profession, i often think if they did a better job that i would not need to look at websites like this to make a self diagnosis as they never know whats wrong with me. I hope you and your family get the result you want from your court case, and maybe find some peace along the way. I hope that the hospitals have learned their lesson and will be more aware of symptoms like your sister's. my prayers are with you at this sad time.xx

guys, h pylori runs in familys so you can have as many triple therapys as you want if a family memeber has it you l get it over and over again, so the only thing ( after sucesful therapy and i mean 2 weeks cause just a week is not good enought to kill it) all you r family members have to get tested and got the therapy....
It s contagius as hell, my whole family had it, and e all had to take antibiotics...
good luck to you all, and dont feel down, it is a bitch but eventually everyone get s rid of it

Finally found out I had hPylori in MAR 2010; took Prevpac (counted days, hours, minutes, seconds until I took that last pill!) Felt better... at least for a few weeks/months; then started feeling bad again. Recently had endoscopy and am hpylori free but not symptom free. I feel like I am going crazy!

Didi, your symptoms are probably due to candidiasis. Read up on kefir, the grains not the instant stuff you can buy. The grains ate pure and colonise your gut. It is a wonderful thing that will sort your symptoms. Add to this caprylic acid 300mg per day and you'll knock it into touch. Email me if you need more info lesleycassell@googlemail.com

So, I am 27 years old and when I was about 13 I spent a whole month out of school and could hardly leave the couch. I remember excruciating stomach pain like something was slowly eating my guts. I have had several bouts of this strange phenomon over the last 14 years, none as sever as the first but never quite feeling right ever either. No doctor did anything further that normal blood test. Which I am assuming does not show h pylori.
About a month ago I started feeling extreme fatigue, I was having sleep issues for no reason also. I could sleep 2 hours or 12 hours and I still felt like a zombie. Then the migranes started at first they would come and go now I have them from the time I wake until I go to sleep. I have ridiculous bowl issues that range from constipation to going up to 6 times a day and this constantly changes. At no point in time can I ever be more than a few minutes from a bathroom. On Thursday I tried to use the bathroom and when I stood up found a large amount of blood in the toilet. This pain in my stomach also started that night, and this pain I have know all to well over the years. I went into the doctor on friday and went over all my symptoms, and asked if I could possibly have chron's because my aunt does or I even wondered about some form of stomach or rectal cancer. I was told today that I tested positive for h pylori. I have had 4 bowl movement with blood in a row since yesterday 3 of them were yesterday. I went to the er last night because of the blood and the increasing pain. I also am expierincing nasua and dizziness and almost like out of body feelings. I was sure that I was dying or loosing my mind. I have not hardly been able to leave my couch since Friday morning and I am afaid that I am going to loose my job. I have some antibiotics that I picked up today but I am afraid that taking them will not only make me feel worse than I already do but also be inaffective since I have 2 children that must also have it since it sounds super contagious. I would really like to know if anyone also has chron's or cancer?

Yes, to the HP and hiatus hernia. Was saved the ulcer thank goodness, but one surely would have developed had I not kicked the HP into touch!

Gosh I am facinated with what I am reading in all these comments.

I have been suffering with pains in my chest..or somewhere in that region....These pains have been going on for like 10 yrs.....
I went to Physician....he decided I had a Hiatus hernia so did the op to fix it in 2004...I had pain free few months..then they started up again...these pains would wake me out of my sleep 3-9 times a night.
Again I went to a specialist..this time it was discovered Gall stones were the culprits....well so gall bladder was removed in 2005...relief from these spasmodic pains was short lived....I was back to square one.
Then in August 2009 I had the worst spasm ever the pain was so bad that the throw up button was pressed....I can't throw up due to repair on Hiatus hernia...so off I went to doctors rooms...Dr..said that the pain in my chest was typical of a heart attack..but because I was not symptomatic for heart attack..he gave me 2 injects...2 hours later the pain was still there...so back to Dr's rooms I went...was promptly put on an ECG...was informed that I had had a heart attack....more tests were done..even the in into the heart...those results came back ..no damage was done to the heart....Now I have an amazing collections of pills I have to take 2x a day...to alliviate the pains...guess what ...I still get these spasms.
After reading what I have read in these comments..I too suffer from..bloating, always hungry, enough gas to run a boeing..appetite very weak am quite happy to eat once a day...some days I have breakfast if im hungry....but do feel hungry after I have had a good meal ....even when I feel hungry I dont want to eat....I have burning sensations all through my tummy and intestines...constipation is a regular occurance...so these comments have got me thinking...do I have Angina or perhaps do I suffer from H-P..who knows...maybe someone can enlighten me....I would really like to get to the bottom of it and maybe get a treatment that will help and fix my problem

Hi Stacy,

If you have H.pylori or a parasite, all the test you did won't show anything and your doctor will start saying that all it's in your head.
Check for parasites ( Giardia, entamoeba, blastocystis) as well as H.pylori.

Best regards,
Jamal

Dear Val,

You should ask your doctor for a blood antigene for Giardia. This parasite can cause a range of symptoms that give so many misdiagnostics.

I hope the best for you.

hi, i also tested positive for H.pylori, from reading the symtoms my understanding is that you can contract this dieased at a young age.So for decades I havebeen walking around feeling terrible because of a bacteria in my stomach. I have gain over one hundred pounds because i am always eating. I was wondering too does anybody suffers with chronic bad breath? I have all the symtons but i was wondering about my bad breath.
