Hi,

I'm new to the forum and just have a question about symptoms with h pyori. I've had digestive problems for years and been through too many tests to name. I'm on a gluten, egg, and dairy free diet for about 1 1/2 years now, diagnosed from a stool test, but it didn't cure me. My symptoms come and go weeks at a time. My symptoms are bad bloating and quick hard spasms under my navel. I recently took a stool test looking for parasites (again) but it showed no parasites but was positive for h pylori. I don't have acid reflux or typical ulcer symptoms. I'm a week into quadruple therapy, side effects are bad. My question is: Does any one else out there have symptoms like mine? I question whether the h pylori is causing my problems. Thanks.

yes curt my symptoms are similar to yours, i did have acid reflux but after a week of triple therapy that improved, i am now left with severe bloating, and a feeling that my lower abdomen is in nots , a spasm pain at times. I have wondered if there are other things along with H Pylori that cause this

I have had terrible digestive problems without any other symptoms, my dr. put through numerous tests before a simple blood test showed that i had h pylori. I was treated with the prevacid and 2 antibiotics. that was about 4 years ago, now my symptoms are returning should this happen to a person more than once, and does anyone know how to prevent it? Everyone im around on a daily basis in my family has been tested and come back negative. If you can help or give advice thanks in advance!

I am wondering if anyone can give me any help. I have been suffering with an estremely bad rash, swollen lips, eyes etc. All the symptoms of an allergy. I have had this since february and have been on a strong course of steroids for almost the full duration. I have been tested for allergies whih have all come back negative. I went to an allergen today and he suggested H Pylori and I am just wondering if anyone else has had syptoms like this or am i medical mystery. Ihave also had weight gain, sore gums, jaw and back. I would love if anyone has any information.

I thought that I was the only one with these "mystery" symptoms! I have the same thing Noeleen describes...rash, swollen lips, weight gain, soreness, etc, and in addition, I also have unexplained hunger and hunger pains (even 30 minutes after eating), gas, sore throat and difficulty swallowing, extreme fatigue, nausea, and a constant need to clear my throat as well. I am seeing an allergist, and I'm currently being treated with allergy shots (not for food allergies), but he never suggested H Pylori as a possibility or tested me. I will have to find out if this could be my problem.

H.Pylori symptoms vary depending on how much of the bacteria is in your stomach. My mother has the bacteria and has acid reflux as well as asthma and a hernia. She also has edema and her stomach has swollen a lot. She is always tired and is constantly taking naps. I read that Manuka Honey is a natural cure for H.Pylori and she has only been taking it for 5 days and the swelling of her stomach has gone down significantly. The reason we tried the natural cure is because she had very bad side effects to the antibiotics prescribed to her and her doctor couldn't prescribe anything else. Licorice is also a great remedy as it is used to cleanse the stomach. Try your local natural food store for more suggestions on curing the bacteria.

I was treated for H-Pylori 3 years ago. But since then have still had major bloating, pain, cramping after eating. Also have some spasms I was just diagnosed today with milk, wheat and soy allergies. I read somewhere that H-Pylori can lead to food allergies. Has anyone heard of this?

Janine, I have the same symptom. The only thing is that the racking pain in my chest only occurs when I eat. It is non-existant at all other times. The pain lasts for approx. 4-5 minutes and then is gone. I havn't been tested yet, but am going to set up an appointment soon.

I followed through with more testing and it turns out that I am lacking digestive enzymes in my stomach. Therefore, any protein I eat is not getting broken down and is leading to all the bloating / pain symptoms. I saw a nutritionist and he suggested taking enzyme supplements to aid in digestion. I am also lacking good bacteria in my stomach, so I need to take acidophiles daily. Could be something to look into.

I too have been fighting h pylori and I am fed up. After searching on the internet I was suprised to find how many people have it and that Im not alone in my suffering. I was diagnosed with it after my regular doctor misread my symptoms as a gallbladder attack...he did nothing after the sonogram results came back fine..just put me on prilosec. I got fed up and went to another doctor who listened to my symptoms and in 5 minutes had the blood test results.
Now it is 10 months later and Im on my third round of antibiotics...this time stronger and making some terrible side affects! I just want to lay around and cry because I feel so bad. What am I to do if this doesnt work?

Hi. I have had acid reflux for a year now. I've been on protonix and a few months ago I started having stomach pain, bloating, gas, belching, and chest pain. I thought I was going to have a heart attach. This caused me to have anxiety which then led to rapid heart beats! I went to the Cardiologist and had an echo and a stress test only to find out (thankfully) that my heart was just fine.
I then decided to finally take my doctor's advice and get an endoscopy. Afterwards, the doctor said that my pictures looked good and he took some biopsies. Two weeks later I get a call that I have H-Pylori and I've been put on Biaxin and Amoxicillin and told to increase my protonix to twice a day.
My question is about a symptom that I have that I don't know if it is related. For almost 5 months I have had the strangest smell in my urine and stool. I smell the same smell when I apply heat to my hair and I even smelled it when the dentist drilled my tooth the other day. I have told the cardiologist, the gastroenterologist, and my regular doctor and they are all unsure why. I have had blood work and that all came back ok. I am wondering if what I am smelling is a result of the bacteria being broken down or otherwise exiting my body. I feel like I am going crazy but I know that something is not right. I am so hoping that this symptom will go away after my treatment for H-pylori and I can link it to that.
Anyone?

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Taurus

Someone is very short-tempered, and they're liable to fly off the handle at a moment's notice. Maybe they're feeling vulnerable in some way or are desperately trying to defend what they see as their territory. Be sensitive to this and don't goad them into being even more irritable or upset than they are already. Frankly, it's just not worth it.
