<quoted text>yes, the ACA failed to even try to address many of the health care system problems we have in the US. what is your plan to do that?
the ACA was designed to extend health care coverage to more citizens. it will do that.
No, it won't! It 'offers' you insurance, which has a cost, plus deductible, then a co-pay. The same person that couldn't afford a doctor yesterday can't afford the doctor today.

Yes they did and for over 2 years now. Unless of course you are not getting the routine annual tests and exams you should be, which would be your responsibility. Thanks to the ACA, those of us who have had any PSA screenings, mammograms, PAP smears, colonoscopies and many more preventive care procedures done, it was at no cost, thanks to Obamacare.
Just because you are ignorant of that fact, doesn't mean it isn't happening.
That's the biggest bunch of happy horse sh!t I've heard. NOTHING is free; somebody pays, i.e., those of us who actually pay federal taxes.

We pay even more now every time someone without insurance shows up sick at a hospital, genius. I'd rather we all paid through taxes so we cut down on the freeloading. It sure beats paying hundreds of dollars in E.R. fees for a deadbeat with a sore throat.
As far as not paying for preventative care, that is true. Again, just because you are ignorant of it, doesn't mean it hasn't been happening. I never said it is free. I said it was at "no cost", meaning to the patient, for you who need further explanation. The amount of money that will be saved in the long run if we practice early intervention, is mind-boggling. At least it is for those of us with viable thinking abilities.

I'll agree with a specific flat fee tax for the uninsured instead of a government mandate to buy optional insurance. Even the big bad John Roberts court declared the ACA aka Obama Care a tax. But the big problem with medical care costs today is inflation. Inflation comes from INSURANCE based pricing which does not necessarily reflect the true COST, A reasonable profit or A loss. A lot providers declare A loss after they actually treat an uninsured patient as not getting their desired insurance based price even though at the end of the day their cost might be covered.

INSURANCE contrary to popular has always been an optional form of payment for provider and doctors. People ASSume INSURANCE is the only way to go. INSURANCE should be be A choice. But to co mingle free market for profit insurance with government regulation and mandate is defacto government health care. It also will not work in the long run.

<quoted text>how much did your health care costs go up in the last decade before Obamacare was enacted? what parts of the ACA have taken affect already that you would have expected to lower your rates?
Our great and fearless leader, Chairman Barack said you would see lower rates. He said that, he did. He did. From his own mouth!
.
A few radio shows I listen to callers have been talking about those breath taking lower rates they have been getting.
.
Using Democrat math, 100% increase is really a decrease (using Democrat math). Ooops, I bet that was one of those glitches Obama mentioned (glitch, Obamaspeak for f*cking up).
.
The young 'uns, they will be subsidizing the old farts like Marine Corp Pat. I will be interested in what they have to say when they apply for their policies.
.
Funny, the vouchers Paul Ryan offered would have come closer to free insurance for many people than ObamaCare, which recently (and very discreetly) removed any reference to getting free insurance from the website.
.
Facts are fun!

Update: Over 20,000 people signed up for healthcare today. By tomorrow many of the glitches will be fixed and that number is expected to utterly explode. People are celebrating everywhere! Within the month, those numbers will be in the millions. All those people are going to be dancin' in the streets on their way to vote.
The repugnantcans have just begun to reap what they sowed and it is just beautiful to watch.

Oh yeah? Those aren't all the facts but I'll bet you either conveniently left out the tax subsidies for participants with low incomes or are ignorant of the fact. The subsidies make the premiums fair and exceedingly doable. There are multitudes of people who are working yet still indigent, and today tens of thousands of them obtained healthcare insurance for $100 or less a month.
It is an extraordinary event to behold and a huge day in a proud U.S. history despite the idiotic naysayers who are sounding extremely out-of-touch with reality.

Can you site a source. I'd be curious to know what plan most are signing for bronze, silver etc. Buying insurance doesn't mean they'll keep it as many do with auto insurance. Except for the desperate pre existing conditions(news source cited an appendix anomaly) or party loyalist I don't think the low income are ready to enlist yet.

Anderson Cooper, CNN news last evening.
Well, they are enlisting and have enlisted by the droves. By the tens of thousands in the first 8 hours. I do volunteer work at a health clinic for indigent working people who cannot afford healthcare, and I stopped in there last night to see what everybody thought. They were celebrating and crying with happiness.

Absolutely false though the idiots of the world
don't realize it because they didn't read far enough, if they even read anything at all about it.
There are huge tax subsidies that will counteract the cost of healthcare insurance if the family is making little enough money.

A vast percentage of those 3 million Americans did not enroll. SHOCK! They were like: "Oh! You mean I have to pay for it? No thanks!"

Once people figure out that they can NOT enroll, get sick, then pay a $95 TAX to then get insured, they'll ask themselves: "why on earth would I pay hundreds of dollars a month?"

These millenials, too, aren't ALL stupid, just the progressive ones. They'll do the same.

Lastly, the same people who could not afford 'health care' yesterday, still cannot afford it today. Your little insurance plan is not 'health care'. So, when you get to the doctor about your sniffles, or butt rash, crotch rot or whatever and--SHOCK--find out THAT'S NOT FREE EITHER, that you have to pay 100% of the bills until you meet your $1k -$5k deductible, then still have to pay 30%- 40% co-pay after that, this thing is toast.

Øbama-scare was never about 'health care'; it was always about big, centralized, big-government planning for every American on the most important thing ever--your health.

Say hello to your new master. Surely you must realize that what the government tells you that you can have also has the power to deny it to you.

DUH! You conveniently forgot the substantial tax subsidies going to low income households that will make the cost fair and AFFORDABLE for everyone. Wonder why you would do that! LOL!
Did you hear that the sleazy, repugnantcan, tea-liban terrorists have put several millions of $, JUST TODAY, into a purposefully misleading campaign against the ACA? Bet you did and you think it a perfectly fine idea!
That's what makes you a traitor who should not have the right to call yourself an American.
