Organized dentistry lobbied against including dental benefits in Medicare. Now only 2% of seniors have dental coverage. Organized dentistry also lobbies long and hard, with their pockets full of corporate cash, against allowing and viable group from infringing upon its lucrative monopoly including these dental therapists..

Dentists didn't make it on their own. They received government handouts in the form of tuition assistance and dental school subsidies. It's time they give back and be mandated to treat more low income people.

We know dentists love mandates because they are behind virtually every fluoridation mandates in this country. If fluoridation actually hurt dentists' bottom line, they would be screaming that fluoridation is ineffective, harmful and a waste of money. Then they would be telling the truth.

Fluoridation gives the illusion that organized dentistry cares about the teeth of low-income people whom aren't welcomed in their dental chairs. If they truly cared about the welfare of low income Americans, they would do all they could to get them the dental care they sorely need.

130 Americans don't have dental insurance. Many of those with insurance can't afford dentistry's unnecessarily high out of pocket expenses.

Dentists need some good American competition to bring down the costs of dental care. Right now, dental care is a luxury item in the US
