About 5.2 million poor, uninsured adults will fall into the “coverage gap,” created by 26 states choosing not to expand Medicaid under the federal health law next year, according to a study released today by the Kaiser Family Foundation.(KHN is an editorially independent program of the foundation.)

These people are projected to have incomes too high to qualify for their state’s existing Medicaid programs, but below the federal poverty level (nearly $11,500 for an individual) required to be eligible for federal subsidies to buy private coverage on the new online insurance marketplaces set up by the Affordable Care Act. Medicaid is the state-federal health insurance program for the poor.

“Millions of adults will remain outside the reach of the ACA and continue to have limited, if any, options for health coverage,” the study concludes.

The law provides full federal funding for three years to states that expand Medicaid to cover residents under 138 percent of the poverty level (or just under $15,900 for an individual). But the Supreme Court made that requirement effectively optional for states, and most Republican led-states have opted against expanding the programs. Yes indeed, Odumbocare is the answer to all insurance a medical woes........LOL!!!!!!!!

Even with over 20 new taxes and tax hikes, including the 3.8% investment surtax, billionaires can't get enough of Obamacare.

George Soros is a major donor to progressive activist group, Center for American Progress, whose president helped write the Affordable Care Act.

Fellow billionaire Warren Buffett told Bloomberg News, "Obamacare is a step in the right direction in many ways," after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of Obamacare last June.

But why would Buffett and Soros support a bill that tacks an additional 3.8% tax on dividends, interest, rent, capital gains, annuities, and home sales for anyone making over $200,000 ($250,000 for joint filers)?

These two famed investors aren't just supporting the bill. They've been making specific investments based on what's written in the new law.
Publisher's Note: Two sections buried in the 2,572 pages of Obamacare will create a new generation of millionaires. To see the fine print that could make you rich, go here.

The latest 13F filings show that last quarter Soros' fund, Soros Group Management, bought 125,000 shares of Gilead Sciences, a research-based biopharmaceutical company that discovers, develops and markets medicines.

The fund also purchased 250,000 shares of pharmaceutical giant Merck, 100,000 shares of Bristol-Myers Squibb, and two of his top 10 holdings now include Johnson & Johnson and WebMD.

Filings for Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway show that in the year since Obamacare was upheld by the Supreme Court, the fund bought 5.67 million shares of DaVita HealthCare Partners, a leading provider of kidney dialysis services.

Buffett and Soros aren't the only billionaires making big bets because of Obamacare.

In the 12 months after Obamacare passed Carl Icahn has snatched up 4.3 million shares of drug manufacturer Forest Labs, which is Icahn's fourth largest holding. Icahn also holds 5.9 million shares of Enzon Pharmaceuticals and 6.7 million shares of WebMD.

Billionaire Ken Fisher of Fisher Asset Management bought over 9.8 million shares of Pfizer, the quarter immediately following the passage of Obamacare.

Billionaire David Einhorn who heads Greenlight Capital bought 6.7 million shares of health insurer Aetna and 4.9 million shares of its competitor Cigna in the past year.

John Paulson of Paulson & Co. has caught on as well this past year, buying 6.5 million shares of Aetna, and 963,000 shares of Jazz Pharmaceuticals, a specialty biopharmaceutical company.

Finally, in the past 12 months billionaire Leon Cooperman of Omega Advisors has bought 945,827 shares of Express Scripts, the largest distributor of prescription drugs. How many of these investments were grabbed up by Pelosi Reid and Odumbo BEFORE the ACA was signed???????

Why The "Young Invincibles" Won't Participate In The ObamaCare Exchanges and Why It Matters

by David Hogberg, Ph.D.

Executive Summary

If the ObamaCare health insurance exchanges are to function properly, it is crucial that a substantial number of people ages 18-34 join them. This age group that is young and relatively healthy must purchase health insurance on the exchanges in order to "cross-subsidize" people who are older and sicker. Without the young and healthy, the exchanges will enter a "death spiral" where only the older and sicker participate and price of insurance premiums will increase precipitously.

This study finds that in 2014 many single people aged 18-34 who do not have children will have a substantial financial incentive to forgo insurance on the exchanges and instead pay the individual mandate penalty of $95 or one percent of income. About 3.7 million of those ages 18-34 will be at least $500 better off if they forgo insurance and pay the penalty. More than 3 million will be $1,000 better off if they go the same route. This raises the likelihood that an insufficient number of young and healthy people will participate in the exchanges, thereby leading to a death spiral.

(CBS News) There are growing signs the problems with the Obamacare website, Healthcare.gov , go far beyond trouble signing up.

The so-called glitches have, in fact, made the website unusable for most.

Congress investigating Obamacare website problems

State-run health exchanges working better than federal

Analysts say the most troubling news is that insurance companies are receiving duplicate sign-up forms from the government - forms that contain highly personal information.

"You're talking about weight, height, age, Social Security number, health history," said Gary Lauer, CEO of eHealth, the country's largest online seller of health insurance. "And I think that individuals who are coming on to these sites just basically want to trust that all this going to be handled properly, and accurately, and securely."

Lauer's company has a contract with the federal government to help enroll people in Obamacare, but he says problems with the website has slowed their efforts.

"We received some of the data and other things that we needed two days before the actual implementation, so, very late September," he said. "We needed it weeks before."

In a statement responding to some of the concerns, a government spokeswoman said: "As individual problems are raised by insurers, we work aggressively to address them."

The White House is refusing to release official enrollment numbers until November, but a top industry analyst estimates just 20,000 people have actually enrolled, out of 17 million visitors.

Oh, My, Yes....it is SHOCKING that the 26 states with republican Governors who blocked all efforts to educate their citizens about ACA are not having success signing up for it

Just SHOCKING! lmao

nsurers say faulty data from ObamaCare marketplaces is straining their ability to handle even the first wave of consumers who were able to sign up for health insurance using federally run exchanges during the glitch-ridden rollout of the new law.

Executives at more than a dozen health insurance companies say they have received data from online marketplaces that is riddled with errors, including duplicate enrollments, missing data fields and spouses reported as children, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.

"The longer this takes to resolve…the harder it will be to get people to [come back and] sign up," Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini told the newspaper. "It's not off to a great start," he said, adding, however, that he believes the marketplaces are "here to stay."

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Nebraska, which has about 50 ObamaCare enrollees, said it had to stop enrollments from coming through automatically and hire temporary workers to contact customers to fix inaccuracies in submissions, according to the report.

Joan Budden, a marketing executive at Michigan-based Priority Health, told the newspaper that staff are reaching out to new customers to make sure they are enrolled in the correct plans, after realizing that some had signed up for multiple plans.

Federal officials did not permit testing of the Obamacare healthcare.gov website or issue final system requirements until four to six days before its Oct. 1 launch, according to an individual with direct knowledge of the project.

The individual, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described the troubled Obamacare website project as suffering from top-level management disarray, changing systems requirements and recurring delays.

The root cause of the problems was a pivotal decision by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services officials to act as systems integrator, the central coordinator for the entire program. Usually this role is reserved for the prime information technology contractor.

As a result, full testing of the site was delayed until four to six days before the fateful Oct. 1 launch of the health care exchanges, the individual said.

Rep. Leonard Lance, R-N.J., told Fox News that Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has resisted calls to testify on Capitol Hill about the troubled roll-out of the ObamaCare exchanges.

Lance spoke to Fox News' "On the Record with Greta Van Susteren" as the House Energy and Commerce Committee, on which he sits, scheduled a hearing on the website problems for next Thursday.

Committee leaders complained that administration officials indicated they could not testify -- even though Sebelius made time to appear on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" last week.

"The secretary has time for Jon Stewart, I think she should have time for those of us who serve in Congress on these critical questions of this dismal failure so far in the roll-out," Lance said.

He said the requests to testify have "not been favorably received ... and I hope that she changes her mind."

Lance said the committee could issue a subpoena but indicated he hopes Sebelius comes voluntarily.

The Energy and Commerce Committee is probing the problems with the ObamaCare launch, including the contractors who were paid millions to create the website.

Taxpayers are not the only ones who get audited. The tables are often turned on the IRS as the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) is constantly scrutinizing the agency.

The TIGTA studied the IRS’ participation in the implementation of the Affordable Care Act between 2010 and 2012 and released its findings last month. The report reviewed the implementation costs of the president’s signature legislation and how the IRS tracked the hefty expenses, and found that how the agency handles their expense needs to be improved.

Here are the findings:

The cost of implementing the act during that two-year time period was $488 million which was paid for by the Health Insurance Reform Implementation Fund (HIRIF) administered by the Department of Health and Human Services. Experts expect the cost of the reform to increase as more of its requirements become a reality and taxpayer dollars will play a bigger role in funding. All this, and not one dime has gone to medical expenses. LOL!!!! What a scam.

BCOW, you remind me of Congress. You are so busy demonizing Hillary with Benghazi, demonizing PResident Obama with Birth Certificates/Benghazi/IRS/NSA/ ACA/ that you completely missed the fact that we hired CGI, a Canadian Software firm to do the ACA role out and their fee went from $92 million to $292 million. The kicker? They are using 10 year old technology.

Issues that have not been addressed by the administration. But, hey xxxxxl, sweep it under the carpet until it's such a huge pile you can't see over it anymore. That's brilliant. You join the ACA, I'll remain self insured. Enjoy your poverty and Have a great day!

Gosh thanks for the unsolicited advice, bCOW. I checked into ACA and it's the same as Humana. Low monthly payments but huge deductibles. I'll stick with the crooks at Humana and if any of us needs serious care, we'll go to Canada or Europe and pay 1/10th the price. Unlike you, I'm not dumb enough to lose my house c/o insurance companies and hospitals who are all modern day criminals and are slowly bankrupting this country.

Enjoy your idiocy and chewing your cud.
