Sep 15, 2012 Full story: Belleville News Democrat 15

Eggers made the remarks during a BND interview about her candidacy. At one point, she was asked whether she would sign up for a pension -- a perk that a few candidates and lawmakers have declined.

Is this all we Republicans have to offer?
Eggers needs insurance? Really! Anyone with her "qualifications" should be able to find a job with benefits.
Henja just plain needs a job and somewhere for his wife to screw things up worse than she did for the city of Columbia.
Kohler never was more than a seat filler when he was on the county board before.
Plummer is dumber than a box of rocks.
We need to reorganize our party. I'm embarrassed!

Just to set the record straight, the BND misquoted Julie. She never said she was in it for the insurance, but stated she would have to evaluate it, just like anyone else would if they had taken a new job. Julie has since issued a statement that she would not take a pension or insurance if elected and challenged her opponent to take the same pledge.

@GOPVoter: Go back up to Elmhurst and tell all your Democratic party brethren you actually got published on Topix! They woill be so proud of you ....! You are a democrat, which is obvious, by your rant. However, if you should happen to be an actual Republican I can honestly say we don't want, nor do we need RHINOs like you telling us about our candidates. It's also obvious you don't know Jack about the candidates, probably, on either side of the aisle. You are entitled to your own opinion, no matter how ignorant nor wrong it is ! By the way, on your way home don't speed between Bloomington and Pontiac as state police are trapping in that area .......

You can hear it coming out of her mouth on the clip attached to the article on the BND. She may have retracted since getting all the heat but she said it very clearly. She did sound like some kind of air-head. I won't vote for her.

you're a buffoon. Your idea that no one should speak poorly of a lousy, disinterested, insincere candidate is extremely stupid and thoughtless. And before you start more idiotic party line nazi mumbo jumbo my way, I'm neither democrat nor republican, I'm AMERICAN, INTELLIGENT, and will use ACTUAL thoughts and REAL information to choose which crook I begrudgingly vote for. And this c#nt is more of exactly what illinois needs less of.

Spoken like another true drinker of the Kool Aid. What I was/am saying is we don't need Democrats posing as Republicans. It's good you are an independent because no party would want to lay claim to your membership. You just demonstrated what a know nothing clown you really are by using a word that's offense to everyone who sees it, and I don't mean Nazi. I'll check back in about a week to see if you've come up with anything else to demonstrate your ability to almost spell four letter words. Till then, they have dictionary's in the library ......

I don't care whose party thinks or wants what, our "system" is used to keep americans focused on arguing with each other instead of focusing on our REAL enemy; our entire government. You claim you're targeting a dem posing as a republican, but right in your post you say 'in case you're a real republican we don't need you blahblahblah', right there you're screaming to anyone with any comprehension skills that by god nobody, even other republicans, should say negative things about any republican, even when they're true, which makes your last backpeddling statement an absolute lie, and is about as stupid a political statement anyone can make, its exactly what's led to our miserable state of affairs. And yes, she's an arrogant c#nt for having that mindset, the kind of which we should be ejecting from every public office and government job in the land. Go be republican first and american somewhere further down the list, and watch your grandchildrens future pissed away in counterpriductive, divisive, party line shenanigans.

She flipped again. Now she isn't taking insurance, pension OR a salary. If she is making $30,000 a month, as her husband claimed in his divorce papers,$68,000 annually with pension, per diem and insurance probably doesn't sound like much. In that case, one must ask, why? Is there something to gain by one of the companies she claims to have dealings with? This gets crazier by the minute.

Stupid democrats, think by bashing whatever a Republican says makes you right. What a joke, do you know anything about her opponent? You just know the name, well do some fact checking on ole Jerry Jr. Lobbyist, liar about actual combat, work history, assistant chief of police in Sauget (can we say corrupt?)? Just some questions that need to be asked?

Oh Really, I might be mistaken but I don't think Jerry Costello was actually on active duty. I think it was the Army National Gaurd? Might have gone through jump school, but his card left on my door says he has CIB,Combat Infantry Badge. Must have engaged enemy forces in actual combat to recieve this badge. I might have to enquire about this.
