The government's new health insurance marketplaces are drawing lots of rotten tomatoes in early reviews, but people are at least checking them out.

Talked to a young doctor today who says he isn't taking any new patients, and is secure in the knowledge his current patients will pay cash if it means he won't submit personal information to a National data base. There is also a hospital that only takes cash. No Insurance paperwork. Lower cost. It is the perfect solution. He is going to hire a legal staff, and fight any attempt to force him to violate his patients confidential records. I said what if it is illegal. He said by the time it is tested in court there will be a new Administration, and hopefully new legislators. There has never been a law so hated as Obamacare by so many people. It should be voluntary.

Recession....the recession was the result of Democrats taking control of Congress in 2006. I will agree with you that the Democratic push for sub-prime loans was a large contributor to the housing collapse, but the unregulated derivatives market made that look insignificant.
And the repeal of Glass-Stegall was a Republican effort headed by Phil Gramm, without whose pressure it would never have occurred. True, Clinton foolishly went along with it.

There are doctors going to cash only.

http://money.cnn.com/2013/06/11/news/economy/...

Can't do that unless patients are willing to pay cash.

INSURANCE causes inflation. People seemed obsessed with having someone else paying for their problems via INSURANCE. If people thought about all the money they pay in INSURANCE premiums for medical events that never happen they would gladly pay for doctors office visit out of pocket. INSURANCE has been perpetuated as the only way to pay for routine care and problems because it puts money in the providers and INSURANCE companies pockets.

no, insurance is perpetuated because very few people can afford to pay $50,000 or twice that for surgury and rehab if they have a major accident or the same for some cancer treatment tha will save their lives.

you do realize you can pay much, much smaller premiums for a policy that covers such catastrophic outlays while you pay for the everyday medical costs as you suggested. then you can save the difference in a tax free HSA. this is what the company i work for did, and what i used to do when i purchased my own insurance.

INSURANCE was meant for individual catastrophic events and NOT routine maintenance like doctor visits, sniffles, boo boos or CYA unnecessary tests. Even the dr in the article notes that auto insurance companies don't pay for things like tires, oil changes, gas etc. Using INSURANCE for NON catastrophic events is where "insurance" became the voluntary chosen tool or form of payment for providers and patients.

If INSURANCE had been just used for catastrophic events including hospitalizations and procedures we wouldn't be where we are at today. I've always chosen the cheapest or free plan ie catastrophic at work I always wound up spending less with multiple doctor visits 100% out of pocket than people who voluntarily chose plans with a small deductible or copay for the privilege of 80-100% coverage on office visits and what should be routine or individual responsibility items.

"Poor Reviews" on health is not acceptable to the American people and will support the reality that the American people will never agree to lose their health, freedom and liberty and cave in to accept the Obama health transformation trick scam. Thanks the Lord for the great American Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Speaker John Boehner, House Leader Cantor, House Whip McCarthy and others who stand shoulder to shoulder with the American people mostly hard working and taxpaying conservative to save American health and financial system from collapsing under the conspiracy health scam of Obama-Reid and Pelosi. Ted Cruz is bright courageous who realized that the Obama health-less plan is a fraudulent scam that could bring disaster to America with millions of our elderly and sick Americans. Tens of millions of our parents, grandparents and sick Americans who paid Medicare all their life will be left out in the cold when Obama gives priority to 30 million illegal invaders sick from all over the world and to his Union liberal friends. Why would millions of Americans sacrifice their health and quality of life being oppressed by the IRS henchmen who will control our medical data as well as bank accounts to make sure our soaring health cost is paid before any the Obama death panels will be able to judge if our parents and grandparents will live or die? The failed Obama care is intended to fail as Reid already stated that America needs one pay system to the Obama regime and getting rid of the private insurance company’s altogether to make it socialistic system like Hitler Care in Germany during the 1930's. Why would any American believe that adding 30 million free Obama care sick people from the Middle East, Mexico and around the world and without doctors that will leave their profession he will get good health care in lower cost under the IRS liberal zealous henchmen that report to Obama about the conservatives that are called "the enemies of America"?

No it isn't B S. Enough people believe it is cheaper to pay the fines until Republicans get back in office, and dump this POS. There aren't enough jails to punish the people planning on giving the Government the proverbial finger before they ever take part in a piece of legislation that is a tax that did not orginate in the House where all money, tax bills have to orginate.

but the US has one of the worst revues of health care in the industrialized world, and you are advocating sticking with the system that brings us those worst reviews...

My part of the nation is the productive part. The part that pays taxes so you can sit home, and play on the computer. The part teaching in the private schools that weed out the slow students so others can get an education. The part that volunteers in the food pantries so your part can eat after they spend all their money on booze, and cigarettes. You talk about change, but there really isn't any changes. The same people are working, and the same people are laying around waiting for a hand out.

your part, but obviously not you, you aren't smart enough to zip up your own pants...you've made that abundantly clear.

a you don't even care enough about your own nation to have even the foggiest clue as to how it works...then again, that could be that you are just too stupid to learn that...too close to call.
