TICONDEROGA — More staff changes at Inter-Lakes Health have the health-care provider advertising for a new administrator and director of nursing at Heritage Commons Residential Healthcare.
Nursing Home Administrator Aldo Troiani and Director of Nursing Linda Ross left their jobs last Monday.
An Inter-Lakes spokesman characterized the top-level changes as unremarkable and said the jobs were advertised that day.
But Behan Communications Vice President John Brodt said he could not comment on why the two left their jobs.
"This is a personnel matter. I can't comment any further. Inter-Lakes Health is conducting a search for a new administrator and a director of nursing for its Heritage Commons Residential Healthcare facility.
"The responsibilities of these positions are being handled on an interim basis by other Inter-Lakes staff."
He said everything is running smoothly at the nursing home while the search is on.
"Heritage Commons is fortunate to have an outstanding team of nurses and other employees with direct patient-care responsibilities. They will continue to provide the quality care Heritage Commons has long been known for both during and after the transition."
Troiani was previously patient-services administrator for the Rockland County Department of Hospitals. He had been at Heritage Commons about six weeks before his departure.
He resigned the Rockland County job in late 2008 after an investigation began into the death of a patient at the Summit Park Nursing Care Center, which is owned by the county.
The patient's family filed a lawsuit alleging that administrators knew about the danger from freestanding closets falling over because at least two others had toppled.
Troiani's telephone number in Youngsville has been disconnected, and no other listing could be found for him. Ross is not listed in the phone book.
Inter-Lakes has had difficulty keeping administrators, with one chief executive officer leaving recently after four months on the job and the one before him after 10 months.
Michael Zemany of Malone was recently hired as chief operating officer for Inter-Lakes, to assist Chief Executive Officer Kevin Haughney.
Haughney, who has been chief financial officer at the health-care complex since 2005, has taken over CEO duties each time the top administrators have left.
Inter-Lakes Health operates Moses-Ludington Hospital, Heritage Commons and other health-care facilities in Ticonderoga.
