Hi,
About 2 years ago I had a terrible cold, with mucus flowing down the back of my throat everytime I swallowed. Ever since then I seem to get the same feeling everytime I swallow. Basically it seems harder than it should to swallow. Ever since then I also seem to have constant dull headaches.
I've been to the doctors and ENT a few times to try and resolve this. I was initially told i may have sinusitus so I tried steriod sprays and drops but nothing helped. Last time I had a camera up my nose and down my throat. He said I had a deviated septum but this shouldn't be causing what i'm feeling. He said my throat and nose looked dehydrated and I needed to drink more though.
At this point I thought I already drunk more than most people. But I took his advice and I've been drinking lots of water ever since (6 months ago). I now understand that the reason I find it more difficult to swallow is probably because my throat and nose is dehydrated.
Regardless of the amout of water I drink, the headaches remain, and my throat and mouth feel dry.
I was told by a few people that I need to go get a scan to check my brain. How do I go abut this?
Has anyone else had similar symptoms or have any other ideas what could be causing this?
