I have a friend on Zyprexa, and his memory is spotty and he is afraid of everything, from going outside when it's raining to going new places. Zyprexa will effect people differently, memory, motivation and cognitive functioning are all areas adversely impacted by Zyprexa.

I DON'T KNOW HOW LONG YOUR FRIEND WAS ON ZYPREXA BUT MY MEMORY WAS TOTALLY LOST FOR 5 YEARS. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO REGAIN SOME MEMORIES BUT OTHERS ARE STILL FOGGY. I DID NOT EVEN KNOW MY NAME AT ALL. ZYPREXA TAKES ALL AWAY. YOUR THOUGHTS, FEELINGS AND EVENTUALLY YOUR LIFE. I HAVE NOT TAKEN ZYPREXA IN 5 YEARS AND IT TOOK 2 YEARS TO EVEN START REGAINING MY MEMORY. I HAD THE HELP OF SORTING OUT WHICH MEMORY WENT WHERE BUT IT WAS HARD NO DOUBT. ZYPREXA IS DEADLY, TELL YOUR FRIEND PLEASE FIND ANOTHER DRUG.

That confused person is being followed again by dead people. We try to make everyone that post here look like they don't know what they are talking about so the public will OVERLOOK what is really going on here. Zyprexa was used on mental patients and gave them all diabetes, severe weight gain, neuropathy, and that was just the beginnig. And now the people that are dying from using Zyprexa want to be compensated , what a joke.

My friend's memory, who is on Zyprexa, is terrible when I consider it more carefully. He has worked at the same store for 10 years, but still can't help customers find anything. He has to keep his hours on his bathroom mirror, his ability to remember his hours is zilch. Zyprexa and garbage like it fry your brain so you can't remember what things were like before taking the poison, and decision making ability is also obliterated.

His doctor continues to say he is doing fine while parroting drug rep propoganda. His doctor was all hyped up from a 5 day conference where drug and equipment companies were bribing the psychiatrists and spewing propoganda. She was raving about the effectiveness of PET scans to diagnose bipolar, and the return to "normality" when drugs like Zyprexa are used. When confronted about why this didn't appear in peer reviewed journals like the American Journal of Psychiatry, she responded "I am far more advanced, I don't get my info from Readers Digest". The real reason is that the propoganda couldn't stand up to anything approching peer review, it's all just a sales pitch.

I don't understand why people keep taking drugs that don't work for them. I had to try many combinations of drugs before I found the right ones, and even now I have to keep adjusting dosages when I start slipping. There are other meds available these days that have less side effects, maybe suggest your friend talks to her psych? yeah, I may be a bit foggy, but I have been on zyprexa for over 10 years, and to be honest with you, I would rather feel a little spacey and clumsy, and have to keep on top of myself all the time with my eating and exercise, than to not understand what is happening around me because my views of reality are so distorted... I can function on foggy, but not on psychotic! Everyone hang in there!

I guess it's just coincidence that when I started taking Zyprexa I expierenced memory problems. I asked my doctor about this and he told me it was a tempoary side-effect. I took myself off the drug as safely as I could a few months later. Had horrific experiences doing this. I later asked my doctor how to get off the drug and the advice he game would have put me in the hospital at best. I used to be a computer engineer even being bi-polar and now I'm diagonised with severe memory impairment and on SSDI. They ought to shoot the SOB's that came up with this crap.My impairment is getting worse and I am and have been seeking alternative methods to stop this. It's not the end I fear anymore it's the journey getting there that is hell. If your on this there are alternatives get off it!

Like any drug works for some and not others. For my husband who has had issues with severe anxiety and depression since age 13 it is been a miracle. He is seeing memory loss however through the day, like forgets where he was in the morning which is a concern. I am hoping he can cut back on some of the other meds which might help over time but to weight the costs versus benefits, I'd have to say he is better forgetting stuff than the miserable existence he has been in the last 35 yrs!

Hello,

I am now wondering about the people who post here claiming zyprexa has worked miracles for them. I am beginning to think some of them might be planted here by Eli Lily.

Zyprexa scoop straight facts on Eli Lilly

A.B.C.’s Some fast facts on the Zyprexa controversy chronicled by a patient user.
What is it? Major tranquilizer daytime sleeping pill.It acts like the 50 year old Thorazine but with less of the tardive tics, cost ten times more I paid $2.50 a pill.
How does it make you so awfully fat? Experts say they don’t know for sure,my patient opinion is that it just slows you down so much, you don’t burn off the calories.

(A) Year 1996 FDA approves Zyprexa for schizophrenia (at first, later on for mania) which is only about 1% and 3% of the population to lessen delusional hallucinations of schizophrenia.
The drug goes on to become Lilly’s top seller at $4.2 billion a year. How does a drug with such a small patient market get to be the the world’s 7th largest drug sale? Lilly denies it was promoted “off label” and pushed on doctors by thousands of Lilly drug reps for FDA unapproved usage to non schizophrenic patients like myself with PTSD.

(B) During the 4 years 1996-2000 that I took Zyprexa,Lilly is alleged to have had an ongoing cover up of critical doctor feedback, that the drug has up to a ten times greater incident of causing diabetes. Finally in 2003 the FDA requires a ‘black box’ warning label of these potential complications.

(C) 2006-07 Eli Lilly lawyers spin a ‘promise’ of a whopping $1.2 billion compensatory settlement for victims like myself who will now have a shortened zyprexa diabetic life.Lilly reports plant closings and employee layoffs in a less favorable political climate and denies that it has been poisoning for profit a mentally challenged patient group less capable of advocating for itself. In 2009 Eli Lilly pleads guilty to criminal charges

Zyprexa, other antipsychotic medications and rest of the psychiatric medications destroy lives.

Behaviour is not a disease. Psychiatrists are quacks and frauds who use destructive treatments in order to murder and cause mayhem on individuals disliked by the society. Psychiatric diagnoses is a system created to create pseudomedical pretexts used to justify destructive treatments.
