When i was sixteen i was diagnosed with Telogen Effluvium which pretty much means i had encountered so much stress that my body stopped producing hair and about 70% of it fell out. Some has grown back over the past 6 years but my hair is still very sparse, fine, and thin. I have a very stressful life and am on some heavy duty medications for my Multiple Sclerosis which probably doesn't help with my hair growth at all. I went and saw a dermatologist on Monday and he suggested i purchase Women's Rogaine Foam. I've looked it up online but haven't found it, just the mens. So, my question is: Is there such a thing as the women's foam?(not the original rogaine, the new foam) and if there is could someone point me in the direction of where to buy it.

Everyone ignore PBAT above, Provillus is crap and a rip off and everyone knows it. Nice try spammer. It is only overpriced saw palmetto and they charge $200.00 when you can buy Saw Palmetto at the grocery store for under $10.00

Oh and Lisa I have never seen women's rogaine foam only Women's Liquid which is 2% Minox instead of the men's 5%. You could ask your Doctor if the Men's foam would be ok for you to use. Maybe if you used it once per day instead of twice. I use the liquid 5% (I am a male) and got great results, I tried the foam and it made me shed so I switched back. Hope this helps you.

That's a good idea. I'm sort of put off by using the men's since it increases the risk of sprouting facial hair but i'll take it up with the dermatologist. Thanks for the help. :)

No worries, actually my girlfriend is on the mens (approved by a doctor) and no problems with facial hair. She actually gets support over at www.Heralopecia.com it is just a women's hair loss discussion forum and she seems to like it there.

I starting losing my hair last year. I am 45 years old. My thick hair is now thinning quite a bit around the front of my head and the "widows peak" as well as the back of my head. I have black hair so it is noticeable. I spoke to my dermatologist and he said it was fine to try the Rogaine 5% for men. I have been using it for 4 months now. I have fine hairs growing, nothing fabulous, but it's hair. I was surprised. It covers my scalp and I would definitely recommend it for older women who are thinning and those women who are not planning on having children (as recommended with the stronger dose).
