The essay was fairly a good piece of text on this weird and dangerous condition. I am preparing thesis on Gout disease, primarily its causes, signs or symptoms and remedies. The statistics really alarmed me and the tempo at which it appears in the cured person again is dreadful. I may not understand why the current medicine is unable to provide a permanent remedy to Gout. Patients are generally advised to stop consuming alcohol altogether.
Even though Gout had been seen from chronological ages, not any had been able to provide a complete cure for this bizarre condition. Most importantly affected persons have to be always on the careful side of the chart not to devour any substances containing Uric acid.

@gout - I share your concern for how gout seems to be unstoppable. As for a "cure", that seems to be elusive. I'm not a big fan of the "stop eating shellfish, red meat and drinking alcohol" club. My success with overcoming gout comes more from paying attention to the acid/alkaline balance of my overall body and limiting the oxidative damage to the cells.
As we survey the landscape and find the countryside littered with the human carnage of Lifestyle Diseases, maybe will take these to be billboards of what NOT to do.
