Gout Attack on a Short Flight

In most of the articles I have read on the Internet most of the advice is directed to Gout problems on long distance flights.
In 2008 my wife and I took a flight from Durban to Johannesburg (a one hour flight). By the time we had landed in Johannesburg I could hardly walk and had to go to the emergency chemist. We then boarded a flight to London but for the whole four weeks there I was in agony and had to use a walking stick to get around.
Only when I got back to South Africa did my doctor diagnose me has having Gout. I have been on Puricos every since.
