In November 2006 I was treated for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia. 1 gram Ceftriaxone sodium injection in the hip (it hurt like hell) and 1 gram azithromycin tablets for 3 days. It did bring instant relief but I had the symptoms again in March 2007 (had unprotected oral sex). I took Ceftas 400mg and 1 gram azithromycin and it did bring relief. But now am feeling that I have the symptoms again. I read that only ceftriaxone injection totally cleans out Gonorrhea from the system.

Can anyone help me out with 2 questions? Firstly what is the right dose of Ceftriaxone and Azee? I am male late 30s 6 tall weighing 200 lbs. I feel the dose the doctor gave me (1 gram) was too strong on the net I have read that it should be 250 mg single dose. Secondly, after about a week of taking medicines I had petechiae and purpura on my left bicep (I had consumed alcohol while taking medicines). What could have caused the petechiae a heavy dose, alcohol while taking medicines, or something else?

Definition of Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhea, a bacterium that grows and multiplies quickly in moist, warm areas of the body such as the cervix, urinary tract, mouth, or rectum.

Description of Gonorrhea
About 2.5 million cases of gonorrhea occur annually in the U.S..

In women, the cervix is the most common site of infection. However, the disease can spread to the ovaries and fallopian tubes, resulting in pelvic inflammatory disease (PID); this can cause infertility and other serious problems.

In a man, gonorrhea can cause urethritis and penile discharge. Gonorrhea can also be spread from a man's penis to the throat of his sex partner during oral sex (pharyngeal gonorrhea). People can transfer the bacteria from the genital area to the mouth with their fingers.

Gonorrhea of the rectum may develop in women due to spread of the infection from the vaginal area, and it can also occur in receptive anal intercourse. Infection of the eye (conjunctivitis) can also occur.

Gonorrhea can be passed from an infected woman to her newborn infant during delivery. The infection also occurs in children, most commonly in young victims of sexual abuse.

If the bacteria spread to the bloodstream, they can infect the joints, heart valves, or the brain. The most common consequence of gonorrhea, however, is pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), a potentially serious infection of the female pelvic organs.

PID can cause scarring of the fallopian tubes, resulting in infertility in as many as 10 percent of women affected. In others, the scarring blocks the proper passage of the fertilized egg into the uterus. If this happens, the egg may implant itself in the tube; this is called an ectopic pregnancy and is life-threatening to the mother if not detected early.

An infected woman who is pregnant may pass the infection to her infant as the baby passes through the birth canal during delivery. Most states require that the eyes of newborns be treated with silver nitrate or other medication immediately after birth to prevent gonococcal infection to the eyes, which can lead to blindness. Because of the risk of gonococcal infection to both mother and child, doctors recommend that a pregnant woman have at least one test for gonorrhea during her pregnancy.

Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD). Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae, a bacterium that can grow and multiply easily in the warm, moist areas of the reproductive tract, including the cervix (opening to the womb), uterus (womb), and fallopian tubes (egg canals) in women, and in the urethra (urine canal) in women and men. The bacterium can also grow in the mouth, throat, eyes, and anus.

You can identify several different Gonorrhea Symptoms by your own eye, but some symptoms need professional help. For women the major organ that this disease attacks is the cervix. That is not going to be easy to acknowledge on your own, so you are going to need to see a physician sooner than later. The longer you go without testing or treatment the worse the disease is going to get. When this disease is not treated the disease spreads into the uterus and fallopian tubes, causing a havoc of problems for women.

Practice safe sex and you can see a lot of good things happen, and you can experience the joy of sex without having to worry about some more complex sexually transmitted diseases that do not discriminate against race, sex, or creed. With regular STD Testing in http://simplestdtesting.com/gonorrhea-tets.ht... you can keep track of your reproductive health. Preventive measures are also taught by concerned health specialist.
