Lol, uh NO! If there were do you thin these message board would even exist? Closes I read was some report saying that Zinc could actually do it, but apparently that must no be the case as it would be widely avaliabe.

There is a connection with Zinc that can heal OB faster or some sort, it' the Zinc in a cream/ointment type not the pill form, but that's not actually a cure.

There's actually a product called Charophor or something that is marketed as a cure, but I've used it and still continue to have outbreaks.

From reading about other people' experience, the only other thing I know is people have stated that after years of being on suppression drugs as in Valtex or Acyclovir they were able to get off the medication and never experience an outbreak in over 5 years. But that was after taking the medication for 2-3 years or more.

Anyway, I'm sure there is a cure or at least a product that can surpress the virus forever, but herpes is something that can be lived with and managed. It has no adverse effect on other health issues, so why create a cure when drug companies are making billions by keeping people buying the medication for the rest of their life. Statistic' say that 1 in 4 people have herpes and 85% of women that deliver a baby has herpes.

As you can see I intially came to this site because my outbreak wasn't going away, but I also wasn't taking my medication on time or everyday. It was like once I started feeling better I would just stop taking medication of skip a day. I've since started taking it everyday at the same time and my OB has cleared and I'm doing very good.

Thanks very much for replying buddy! your experience is very helpful. I've heard about natural medications that can possibly cure the desease like for example 'EverCLR3', and it's only available in US, I am not sure what to do!

BioVex Announces Regulatory Clearance to Commence a Clinical Study With ImmunoVEX HSV2; A Vaccine Candidate for Genital Herpes
8/20/2008

WOBURN, Mass., Aug. 20 /PRNewswire/-- BioVex Inc, a biotechnology company developing clinical stage treatments for cancer and the prevention of infectious disease, today announced the UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has accepted BioVex's Clinical Trial Application to conduct a Phase I clinical study testing the safety and immunogenicity of its lead infectious disease candidate for genital herpes, ImmunoVEX HSV2.

ImmunoVEX HSV2 is a novel live-attenuated vaccine which has been rationally designed to remove the genes that allow herpes virus to avoid the immune system. This should allow the immune system to recognize and mount a powerful immune response against the causative agent of genital herpes. In preclinical studies, ImmunoVEX HSV2 completely prevented all symptoms of genital herpes and triggered a powerful immune response, suggesting that ImmunoVEX HSV2 may be more potent than other HSV-2 vaccines for which data has been published.

BioVex's Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Dr. Robert Coffin, commented:

"Genital herpes is a significant and growing public health issue. All previous attempts to develop either a prophylactic or therapeutic vaccine have either failed or have shown efficacy in only a very limited proportion of the population. We believe that this vaccine, based on a new understanding of HSV biology, has the potential to substantially advance the field. Accordingly, today's news is a significant milestone towards realizing this potential."

About Genital Herpes

At least 45 million people over the age of 12 in the United States have been infected with HSV-2, the cause of genital herpes, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. There is currently no cure for genital herpes and the standard treatment protocol includes daily suppressive therapy and antiviral medications.

Unfortunately, there isn't any cure yet that can guarantee 100% that herpes outbreaks will be eliminated. There are some rumors though that they are coming close to getting one. So for the mean time, we should content ourselves with some OTC medications that can help the recovery faster.

There is no cure from the medical industry guys... that does not mean there is not a cure...

Look the governement make multi millions a year from herpes maintaining meds that treat but dont cure...

if they bring out a cure that revenue stream is gone...

You have to research and gain knowlege on what you should be eating, drinking and supplementing...

you can get a free herpes nutrition action plan here

has anyone attempted to control the virus with turmeric. I've read that turmeric prevents the virus from replicating. It has antiviral properties as well as a huge swath of other applications for health.

You insensitive, ignorant fool. You CAN still spread herpes EVEN WITH A CONDOM. Do your homework before you name-call and flex on a forum for people seeking ADVICE.

I was recently diagnosed with having HSV1 genitally. The GUM clinic nurse told me that 85% of the populace carries HSV antibodies. You don't have HSV antibodies unles you have HSV, wether it be orally or genitally!!!
