Meat glue is bad for your health

Full story: Alamogordo Daily News

When was the last time you glued pieces of meat together to make a bigger chunk? The Food and Drug Administration thinks the practice is perfectly fine, and unless you are buying organic products or are a vegetarian, it's very likely you've ingested glued animal products.

Oh Lord, I don't even cook hotdogs sometimes....just cold out of the fridge. Well, if the food doesn't get us, the tornadoes or floods will....gotta go sometime!

Does the package say it has transglutaminase so we can look out for it? I don't recall seeing it anywhere before...

Wow, I'm a retired meat eater, not by choice, but I don't miss it. It's even easier now.

This article turned my stomach. I'm glad that I made the switch to organic and free range meats.

One of those quack docs. Is she a MD? I guess you rub Buddah's tummy when you go into their office.

This is a completely absurd story, there are a ton of meat binders out there on being seaweed. One more being egg, does that mean these ingredients are toxic, the vegan dogma is so outrageous. It's dangerous because it's been concentrated for a stronger bond to make a more uniform ham, and its only more susceptible to pathogens because it has more surfaces that a whole bone in ham... if you not a butcher or maybe an inspector you really can't raise red herrings over meat.

Here is a link to an article I found about meat glue that seems balanced:
http://www.marksdailyapple.com/meat-glue-sepa...

It appears meat glue is not something to freak out about, but just another one of those things in modern life to put on your personal "watch list".

I don't see anything wrong with meat glue.

I use meat glue to hold together my homemade 4 patty melt with lettuce, tomato, union, pickle, all on a sesame bun.
