Mercury levels don't lead to autism in kids

In a large population-based study published online Monday, researchers at the UC Davis MIND Institute report that after adjusting for a number of factors, typically developing children and children with autism have similar levels of mercury in their blood streams.

The reason for that is because mercury has an affinity for tissue, especially brain tissue, and it makes it's way their quite quickly from the bloodstream, especially if the body isn't doing a good job of getting rid of it. So..... you need to compare mercury levels in brain tissue, not blood.
