Full story: Columbus Dispatch

Remember, kids, Jesus wants you to vote Republican because greed is a "family value."

Even if he opted to use prayer over medicine, he was an adult cpable of making his own decisions. If he got caught up in his sister's loony cult, so be it.

Why does it not surprise me that these people were in the middle of a battle for somebody else's money?

And JSB05 is not greedy at all. Jesus wants us to be realists about human nature. The founders of the USA designed a system of 3 separate but equal divisions of government because we are all corruptible and need correction. They got the idea from Isiah 33:22 and that system produced the strongest country in the world - too bad we are walking away from what is proven to work. Socialism is Godless and has eventually brought misery, death, want, and despotism wherever it is tried.

The founders of the USA didn't get the idea from Isiah 33:22. They got it from Plato's Republic, The legend of King Arthur and the Roman Senate.

Theocratic governments are the systems that are destined to fail. What has made this country strong through the years was fact that religion's influence over our government was mostly cosmetic. The actual functionality of the government is secular.

Are you for real, or is this posting a joke? Where did you get that our founding forefathers built the Constitution around Isiah 33:22? Did you know they were largely simply THEISTS, acknowledging a higher presence, but not adhering to any strict religion? They also tried to ensure religion did NOT become a part of the Constitution. "In God We Trust" and all that other jazz was added later.

The amount of WRONG information being disseminated by the neocons and fostered as truth is revolting. Denying Christian faith as a basis for our government is NOT socialism. It's FREEDOM.

The real issues at hand: Are they going to rebuild the stature and who the hell is country legend Wayne Perry?

Also, our country was established on the ideas of John Locke, who we all remembered from Lost, was a man of faith. Even if he was possessed by an evil spirit who wanted to get off the island and would kill anyone in his way, he would want the Jesus statue rebuilt.

I am all for rebuilding Touchdown Jesus, but in a more resilient material this time. Maybe build a souvenir shop into His back? I'd make the trip to Mason for Touchdown Jesus salt & pepper shakers and a spoon rest.

I doubt they'd have TDJ shot glasses though.:(

I find this whole TDJ thing interesting and since it doesn't look like Kim Jong Il is going to toss a nuke at the US/South Korean naval exercises the paper has to put something in the space.

Many of our founding fathers were deists, not theists. Is that what you meant? Otherwise, I agree with your post.
