It's my undestanding that there is now a vaccine for HPV for both male and female.

There has been for a long time.

I believe that that vaccine is the ONLY vd vaccine available.

HPV infection has caused a marked increase in throat cancer over the years.

Consult your physcian.

I have read that the vaccine is now recommended for males and females who are sexually active or who may become sexually active. Until recently, the vaccine was only recommended for females.

Some of that dates back to the Vietnam war...
Soldiers would go have sex with prostitutes, get the clap, go see the doc, get treated with antibiotics... and repeat the cycle, over and over again... resulting in certain strains becoming antibiotic resistant. The same things happens with syphilis. Meaning that a cure is not as simple as you might think. It might not even be possible.

The united states had a policy of not allowing people with such incurable infections into the country, but with modern air travel being what it is, it has gotten in anyway.

With HIV, small amounts of the virus may lurk in a persons system for many months, possibly even years, before it rises to a detectable level of antibodies, and some people may be asymptomatic, even though infectious. So while they are not detectable from tests, if they even have them, they are still spreading the virus when they have sex.

And there are the crazy people who try to kill after you have sex with them. Or their previous partners who will try to kill you.

Bottom line: Just like with life, you cannot positively, absolutely eliminate or separate sex from all forms of risk, some forms of which are very deadly.

Well, nothing is ever perfect. You can't live forever. You can wrap yourself in a mattress and go sit in a basement half full of water...(so you won't burn).
You'll probably die from the mold or radon poisoning, or having the house fall in on you during an earth quake...

So you might as well give up now and enjoy life while you can, because sooner or later you will die from old age if nothing else gets you first. Just use some common sense, avoid crazy and promiscuous people as sex partners... I'm nearly 60 and the grim reaper has always missed me so far... just wasn't my number yet.

I realize that and you would probably be surprised at the chance I've taken in my life.

I used to bop around a lot, and I was lucky enough never to get an std or hiv. I decided a long time ago that I'm not going to push my luck any further. I quit having sex a long time ago because I think the odds of catching something incurable are simply too high nowadays.

I don't mind dyin. I just don't wanna die that way.
