Personally, I find all these studies ridiculous. But I say that in relative terms. Just about every day there is a new study published in some media outlet. In the truest forms, I guess studies are a good thing. Finding cures and potential medications for diseases and illness is a good thing. However, so many studies contradict other studies or porve them wrong altogether. Like the first post says, what is the deal? Is caffeine good or bad. How about butter vs. margerine? Whole milk vs. skim? High protein diet vs. low carbs?
And sometimes these studies get way too specific....almost to the point of being unrealistic.
Ex.
Researchers have concluded that females between the ages of 34 and 47 who drink once glass of wine per day are 1.85% less likely to develope a canker sore that won't heal on its own. But the study also states that the information is only valid if their mother AND father are not carriers of a rare blood clotting disease and if they have not traveled outside of the US during the last 30 years.

Of course my example is fictitious, but certainly not exaggerated in the detail.

The fact is, everybody's health is different. There are general guidelines which are obvious. Don't eat 5,000 calories worth of sugar everyday or else you'll get diabetes....duh!
Eating fruits and vegetables is a good thing...duh!
Smoking is not good for you....duh!

Personally, as has been hailed for so long, by so many, I believe that moderation is the key.
I like Burger King's Whopper. But I don't eat 6 of them a week....duh!
It's okay to drink soda. As long as you're not downing a 2 liter of Mt. Dew everyday.

DUH!!!!

wrong, more like I shouldn't have had kids then I wouldn't have dental problems and probably wouldn't have ms either,my dental problems are from losing too much calcium in my teeth when pregnant, plus I had gestational diabetes when pregnant too so that didn't help the teeth either

heck if brushing my teeth would save them then they would be perfect teeth because not only do I do them twice, they are done 3 times, plus rinsing with mouthwash and flossing too.

plus they even were doing flouride treatments when I was pregnant and they had me using that prevadent toothpaste with the high flouride and they still went downhill, but then again I ain't the only woman in the family that developed problems after having kids, and I should be glad I still have my teeth, the other ones had the problem with the calcium and they lost all of theirs, but then again back when they lost theirs was before they used the crowns and all the other stuff they use now.Back then it was either fillings or dentures

I'm convinced that things will turn out like in the Woody Allen movie "Sleeper"- whatever they thought was bad for us, was really good for us in the end!
