There was a story posted on the Efforts forum in February about a man who went to AArgentina for stem cell treatment for emphysema/COPD so I did more research and found a company doing stem cells for COPD that was much closer than Argentina. This treatment is not a hoax.
As a result of my research, two of us with COPD (we are both members of Efforts) had umbilical cord stem cell transplants on April 5th of this year and have noticed some improvements already. The treatment in Argentina injects your own cells injected via IV and we had umbilical cord stem cells injected through an IV. The jury is still out on which procedure is more effective as it's still too early for any of us to see long-term results. You are welcomed to visit our blog at http://www.stemcellpioneers.blogspot.com or our brand new forum at http://www.stemcellpioneers.com We encourage anyone interested in stem cell treatments for any type of disease to join us. |

Jeannine - I, too, have emphysema/copd, but I have begun to work out of my house and now have some money to try something different. I would love to communicate with you directly and find out how to obtain the alternative treatment. Thanks, Jim

My MIL suffers from COPD. I had no idea that something was actually available related to stem cells. How do I find more information for her? I think this would be something that would excite her. Thanks, Trish |

I have had COPD for approx. 10 yrs. & on oxygen 24/7 for about 5 yrs. I was told by a fellow the other day that he knows of a friends father that went to Mexico for some kind of shot in the lung that improved him 100 % I highly doubt it is as good as he said. I would be very happy to volunteer for a clinical trials if it would help my COPD or some one else. I live in Nevada.vonjon2@msn.com

Hi to all, Because of what I read a few days ago about the PowerLung I have bought one & I'm using it now as the directions state. I also found it pays to surf for prices as I saved about $15.00. If this Powerlung helps or hinders I will be writing about it.

I have the contact number for Dr. Christian Wilde. I am a big fan of a radio program called "CoastToCoastAM" with George Noori, 10PM PST Monday -Friday www.coasttocoastam.com Dr. Wilde is a frequent guest on that program. He was just on last night, 1-23-09. He has a web site: www.myheartbook.com . His Toll free number is: 866-Stem123 (866-783-6123). Call him, he may know of a Stem Cell Trial for emphysema that you can participate in. I don't know if he does, but he might. It's worth a call. Good luck. My name is Kirk Anderson. My email address (in case you have to get hold of me) is: marmadon2003@yahoo.com. |

Hi Ed. It's Kirk Anderson again. I have found a web site: http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/1243... Near the bottom the article you will find a contact name: "Armin Ernst of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston" Here is their website: http://www.bidmc.org/ In the upper right hand corner of the web site, you will see a link called "Contact BIDMC." Click on it. At the next page, scroll down where it says "Find A Doc." Click on that link. On the next page, where it says "Last name" just put his last name in the block "Ernst." That's the only information you have to insert. Then click on "Submit" The next page will take you to Dr. Ernsts contact info, including his telephone number. Good Luck, Ed! |

I am interested in hearing from people with COPD who have had success or failure with adult stem cell treatment. Also would like names and numbers/addresses of Doc's doing this in the US.Other than trials, I have only heard of one physician doing this and he is in Bonita Springs, FLA.
Thank you. |
