Im 14 with dry 'flakey' skin,, wrinkley hands. I still have loads of friends and the only thing i really avoid is swimming at school as i would have to take a tub of diprobase and steroid cream.

Alot of people with a bit of eczema on there arm go on about it and say how do you cope with it like that, but the itchyness and sore parts i just live with and ignore..

Nivea moisturiser for dry skin is Amazing! Its the one in a blue bottle its better than my prescription cream.

2 things annoy me about eczema is:
i have it on my scalp giving me a sort of dandruff
and the wrinkled hands :L

But ahh well ill live on :) xx

Hi Courtney, I just wanted to ask you if you have ever had an immediate food allergy test done - not one by hair testing etc.? I have had bad eczema and Icthyosis vulgaris, which eczema sufferers often have aswell, all my life (I'm now 23) I tried most types of treatment and then I gave up for a while as I thought there was no cure but then it got even worse (when I was living for a year in South America) and I thought I would try to look online again. I came across Dr David Dahlman's website on which he explains that he had been working as a Gastrointerologist(a specialist who deals with problems like colitis and Irritable Bowel Syndrome) and he realized, after seeing many patients with bowel problems, that a great many of them also had problems with ezcema; he went on to do his own study on this and you can read his findings free on his webpage (google his name). I don't know if it is true in all cases that eczema is food related, I believe he says that it isn't but that a high majority of the cases are true- I took his advice and had a food allergy test done in my home country (Northern Ireland) and it turned out that I am allergic to dairy foods, whey, and Monosodium Glutamate(E621). When I found this out I left those foods out of my diet and my eczema totally cleared- it was unbelievable! If I eat them it comes back - which is annoying as I am a huge Ice-cream addict, but I cannot complain because now I don't have to suffer anymore.
It pains me to think that there are others also suffering needlessly with eczema when it could be cured easily if they only left out certain foods. I hope this information is beneficial to you or anyone else who reads this!

I totally agree. It seems you're suffering from the exact same symptoms as me. I am the same age as you and still have lots of friends. I am always self conscious of my hair and my hands because I'm afraid that somebody will notice that my knuckles are wrinkled.

hi courtney im 13 years old and have a serious case of exzecma its not the itching that bothers me the most its the scars that it leaves behind. its hard enough to deal with the questions "girl what thats on your arm" or " whats wrong with yo skin" but what i hate the most is i cant where shorts or short sleeves without people looking at me with disgust or being happy that they aint me. Sometimes i think im the only one who goes through this

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
