Ear eczema is a fairly common skin infection. What is surprising is that even though there are many people who have been suffering from this condition since years, there is yet no definite cure.

Have a look at the shampoo from the Skin Salveation. Its part of their skincare program.Whilst washing hair the overspill/drenching covers the ears, can't be avoided generally!.
It does help reduce any itchyness of ears and helps any eczema around the neck and I remember comments on the site there has been the occaisional success with psoriasis.
I use it as a shower wash daily as part of my cleansing regime.
So far,so good!.Eczema free,for 8 years now.No more embarrasment about blotchy skin.
I can remember being scared to sunbathe at all.I looked like a character out of the old Marvel Comics.(Young Mums won't have a clue what i'm talking about!)
Looking forward to long hot summer days wearing less clothes again!!

A few years ago I developed this problem on the ear opening and was at a loss as to what to do about it and out of sheer desperation, I applied with a q-tip a few drops of left over cortocosporin suspension for an ear infection I had at an earlier time. I found using it topically worked like a miracle! It stopped the itching and healed up the eczema in only a few days and now I rarely have a problem with it. Jane is correct, washing your hair causes moisture that will aggrivate the problem. I also have a small area on my outer ear that will errupt from time to time and I found Bacitracin ointment does the trick for that. All of what I discovered fits perfectly with the article. The ear drops last for months with a cost of about $30 without insurance and Bacitracin is a few dollars at most stores. Both are staples of my medicine cabinet for the occassional breakouts. However, until I used this treatment, it was often and occassional is blessing to me! Hope this may help someone else looking for a simple cost effective treatment.
