I am 20 almost 21 years old and has had eczema since I was a baby. I haven't had a flare up since the sixth grade and my newest and most consistent occurrence about five months ago. In the past two weeks, dry and inflamed patches of skin have showed up on my various places on my face. I haven't changed any shampoos, washes, etc. I'm left to believe the only thing that is worsening my skin is the humidity outside.. Have tried my elidel cream that has been prescribed to me since a young girl specifically to treat eczema. It has not helped my skin at all. About four days ago, I got a new cleanser and moisturizer from the makers of Philosophy. The cleaner (purity by philosophy) isn't harsh on my face but doesn't add any moisture which leaves my skin burning after I cleanse. The moisturizer (hope in a jar - without glycolic acid) seemed to help significantly after the first application. After the first application though, it seemed to smoothen out areas of my skin but didn't get rid of the hard, scaly patches of skin. Now this is what glycolic acid is for, which philosophy also offers in "Hope in a jar". They sell this at any Ulta, and I will be purchasing the new jar to see how that works. I have also just figured out that taking a hot bath filled with baby oil really helps and moisturizes the skin. I even threw baby oil on my skin after the bath and realized how nurturing it was for my skin. It did not burn or even tingle.... My skin has never been this bad in the 20 years I have had eczema.. Does anyone have any tips for facial eczema? Any products? I hope this entry helps you...as I am still learning...

My husband is a long term eczema sufferer. It's an ongoing battle to keep it under control and what works for a while often ceases to do so and then is sometimes effective again down the track.

The homeopathic remedy available at http://gentlyheal.com has worked well for him for quite some time. Worth adding to your arsenal.

hello!
extreme temperature , either hot or cold causes eczema to worsen.
shampoos, soaps, laundry soaps should be mild bec your skin is already sensitive.
you should keep moisturizers in handy to keep skin from drying that also leads to itch.
by the way emu oil is a good moisturizer, also a good remedy for your eczema rashes.

i have had eczema for years also. I find Alobolene skin cleanser works good on my skin. Also I use Lancome Absolue cream afterwards. They both seem to help.

I suffered from extremely bad eczema on my hands and the culprit appears to be shampoos and creams. I now use free and clear shampoo and the creams with the least amount of chemicals and the eczema has gone!!.
