There's a difference between someone with a real psychosexual problem and someone who just claims to be a "sex addict" because they don't want to have to control themselves.

But there are people who are psychologically unable to resist or decline sexual acts even when they know that it will cause problems for them. I know, because I dated someone like that, and it ultimately destroyed what had been a great relationship.

The problem wasn't just that she was horny all the time. The problem was that she was trying to fill a childhood deficit of love and attention from an absent father figure by having sex with men - me if I was around, and someone else if I wasn't. As much as she tried to be faithful, if I was gone for any length of time she just couldn't help it.

Who cares? If the 'addict' is only hurting themselves, let them go. Use your time and energy on somebody who WANTS your help.
Sure, some people's Pleasure Center in the brain need a drug, whether it's alcohol, tobacco,.... or sex. When they kill themselves, they are just cleaning the "Gene Pool".... Natural Selection where the weak perish..

Lol I find it hard to believe that a sexual addiction would be a disadvantage from an evolutionary point view. The more you feel the desire to have sex, the more the chances you have sex...And the more you have sex, the more the chances that you will reproduce.

... the more you reproduce, the more you will have trouble and poverty, the more troubled and poor you are, the less your genes will be survive.
