Is raw carrot juice acceptable on a soft food diet for diverticulitis?

You do not want to eat or drink any thing raw. until you have recovered from the attack. Juice needs to be pasteurized to be safe from microorganism witch could keep the infection going hope you recover fast and may God hold your hand through this hard time

Not sure who gave Larry the red X, but he is absolutely correct. Raw foods contain levels of bacteria that can be harmful to someone with a compromised immune system. Two choices - one, you can flash heat your foods before juicing to kill the bacteria (drop is rapidly boiling water for 2 minutes; two you can buy juice. (I guess you could also grown your own using a hydroponic system) I used V8 fusions for several months. Also, with a compromised intestinal system, you do not want to use and non-organic, pesticide ridden foods, so be sure to buy organic before juicing. The juicing process actually concentrates the pesticide residue, and a new study out this week shows that even peeling does not eliminate the pesticides:-(
