My heart goes out to the Ramos family. Mando was best friends with my daddy who is the former "FEATHERWEIGHT CHAMPION RAUL ROJAS" also inducted in the boxing hall of March 2004. Mando saved my fathers life in Wilmington ca ..when my father was beat down by drugs and alcohol. Mando had a compassionate heart and a love for my father like a brother. He helped to place my father Raul Rojas in several sober programs over the past 20 years. In 1984 I was living with my father in wilmington ca. where my father Raul Rojas worked as a longshoreman as did Mando . I admitted to Mando I was experimenting with crack cocaine..something I denied to my very own father..and Mando inspired me to attend an A.A meeting, and to seek a "Higher Power"...it took many years for me to find that High Power..today I rest assured that Mando Ramos in is the loving arms of our "Heavenly Father", and that all things are made beautiful in its time.

Bye my old friend, and Andrew, your going to be ok. Mondo wouldnt want you to suffer. Move on like I told him about your other brothers death. I really dont think he ever got over that. He was a gentleman and I resent people who say he was a womanizer. Sylvia must be a saint and of course my love goes to R and S. this is so unreal, he was stronger than we knew. I guess God wanted him now as he was a champ fighting demons. All my love Tina

Dear Mondo Jr. You didnt meet me and I spoke to your mom one time when I was trying to get Mondo to West Virginia. There is a boxing match there every month. Not great ones but sometimes ......... Its at mountineer park, a race track and spa, taking after las vegas. The money was great but the owner didnt want to hear about drugs and so forth, just him shaking hands with other fighters and you know the partys after. He really didnt want to leave home. Although he did speak with my daughter about drugs and so forth..shes 21 now. And Ms. gainesville. we are in Fla. I knew him and was staying at the house with R. and S. and him and he was such a gentleman untill he tried to get me to run with him. He ran on the shore not sand he ran so far I fell after half a mile and 45 minutes he came back. He trained very, very hard. I dont know why people said he trained every day then partied every night its not true. I knew him when he came back from winning the world champ and he was beat. never drank after. The women came after him, my dress was torn and I fell once at the auditorm as they pulled for him. He covered his face. I also remember him giving everyone money who asked for a loan. From a fighter to a homeless person. My mother made him a bracelet gold w/diamonds that said champ. i found him sleeping im belmont shore on some grass and drove him home, he had lost his belt but still had the bracelet. I want to tell your dauchter Britany that he wasnt like they say in the ads about women, and he was mature for his age...he never shuffuled from one to one. A humble man your Dad, with a lot of humor tucked in.

Lil Mando, my daddy"Raul Rojas" is very sick. He suffers from alhiemiers diease, and is "punch drunk"..he can not remember a conversation past 3 mins. A day after your daddy fell asleep before the Lord, I went to the hospital to tell my father Raul, about Mando. I said: Daddy?..Do you remember "Mando Ramos?"My father looked up at me with a deep thought on his facial expression..and said:"Of course I know Mando!" I then asked "who is He, daddy?" Mando Ramos???" He's the "Champ!" I then asked my daddy is that all Mando is to you? He said no, he is my camarada(friend) we grew up together mija,.. why? I hugged my daddy and in his ear I told him, Daddy,...Mando passed away. My father was hit with deep concern. He said:"No, no,..not Mando...couldent be. My father every 10 to 15 mins. would say ..mija did you say Mando died? My heart rejoices that it is written, and is proof in the bible 1st Corinthians 13:13 and now abide "Faith, Hope, and Love"...but the greatest of these is.."LOVE". Love allows my daddy to hurt and remember Mando. My father says he loves Mando like a brother ..and we will be present at your daddys Memorial service at the hall. My brother Raul jr. has also fallen asleep to be with the Lord..... My daddy cant walk, and my husband is paralized..so I will be between my two favorite men..in wheelchairs. Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted..Matthew 5:4 All my love for you and yours. By the way Im an evangelist!!smile. See you tomarrow..the Rojas family...sending you and Slybia our deepest sympathy.

To all the brethren of the faith of Christ Jesus...There is power in prayer. Please pray for the "Ramos" family... that God's love will comfort each family member and all of Mandos friends...and fans too. For we are a nation that is always prepared to celebrate a birth or a wedding or a baby shower, birthdays..etc. but never taught to understand or celebrate the "Graduation" of Death to Life...in the presence of the Lord. Romans 14:8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die,we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die..WE ARE THE LORD'S..for to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living. 1st. COR 15:55 "OH, DEATH WHERE IS YOUR STING?"....but Thanks be to God who gives us the "VICTORY THRU OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!"AMEN>>AND AMEN!

i get misty eyed... ok so i cry sometimes thinking of Mando. What a heart. And funny as heck! He knew 'what time it was'at all times. He knew the street... and feared no man. my daughter was feeling down... we drove 100 miles to see the champ and Sylvia. my girl Savannah, 12, was getting put down by the other girls at school... jr. high stuff... but she took it hard. Iintroduced her to mando and he could sense there was something amiss. He didn't say he knew somethin was up... but boy did he. He turned on that famous mando smile and charm. that little boy forever young cool. Within no time my baby was refreshed. he made her feel important. he splashed her with the idea of self-worth. my daughter was in bad shape. we hear about teen suicide so often... and unexpected. but i honestly feel mando may have saved her life. she left Sylvia and Mando's a re-energized person with, i dare say it... a hearty zest for life. i was amazed at mando's perceptive abilities, but then again i must have recognized that something special he possessed, or else why did i choose to drive over 100 miles? mando's magic was low-key but undeniable. saying 'he was a cool dude' is true, but it just scratches the surface of the depths that the man was made of. he spun his spell on my daughter and didn't look for a pat on the back or acknowledgement. it was just pure mando... giving and not asking. mando ramos belongs to the ages. there will never be another like him. ever. we cried when we heard the news. i told my daughter: today we cry... and days later still we find ourselves crying. but we shall dry our eyes and celebrate mando's life 'cause we know the champ is in heaven... and he wouldnt have it any other way. life doen't make sense. death sure as heck doesnt either. we're confused, but we'll show some back bone and honor mando and Sylvia with a smile. but let the world know... it is a heavy-hearted smile. we love you mando. blake, jackie, and Savannah Chavez
