No one is surprised but she has been keeping it her little secret until she made a deal with novo norsdisk to be the spokesperson for their new anti insulin diabetic medication. Her food network didn't know, her co-workers....until they read it just like we did.

Now she is wondering while she isn't feeling any love....

I don't understand the power that some celebrity's feel. So Paula Deen is so powerful that she is above morals and ethics? I guess that doesn't have a thing to do with southern hospitality but it does look a lot like southern hypocrisy!

I don't know how much she is worth now but her deal with Nova Nordisk will bring her over 6 million over the next few years.

The world now knows about Paula Deens diabetes because of 6 million dollars. Period.

im torn about her revelation. in one way im not blaming her because she's an entertainer first of all, but then again, as a chef somehow i think she has a responsibility to her audience. her food is high fat and high carb, butter, everything, overkill to me. coming out saying she had diabetes and has had it 3 years seems like hypocrisy, i know she says "moderation yall" but the stuff she makes, even moderately isn't healthy, im originally from the south and i can guarantee, we never cooked like this, this is entertainment mostly

ok after watching paula deep fry butter, make lasagna sandwiches and serve up hamburgers w/ fried eggs on donuts i dont know what to think, was she misleading and nefarious? probably, but can we blame her , not sure. either way she seems to be laughing all the way to the bank

She was never misleading at all, and the hamburger, egg on donut was a joke, I saw that show, a joke is all that was. that said, we could all improve our eating habits alot, she is not to blame for my bad habits or yours. She has always said this food is yummy but you dont eat fried chicken every day, at least I don't. Treats are one thing, daily eating deep fried everything is not good. She also, and I've seen this, grows her own vegtables and herbs and uses them all the time. She may have diabetes, but it's not all her ways of cooking , she will need to alter her diet somewhat, but she will always be a southern cook and more power to her. for it.

Whos business is it? I dont tell people I have diabetes. I definitely try not to tell a future employer. The less people that know, Except for necessary for my safety- the better.

Paula Dean isnt telling you to eat the food, she is giving an option, she is giving information.

Paula Dean its noones business what you do or dont have.

The only way this is not applicable is for those who have a risk that puts others at risk... And those are the ones that really never tell.

It's certainly not Paula Deen's fault for your poor eating habits but it's certainly her fault for her own!

Her diabetes was caused by her diet. If she controls her diet and loses weight she can cure her diabetes.

She has opted to take a pill and continue her bad eating habits. That's pure insanity to me. And a poor example for the diabetic community.

One thing... People... You cant live my life for me, I understand consequences of the disease, and I am surely CONFIDENT that she understands.

This is the reason that AMERICA doesnt ever want to have a government run medical insurance system.

It is no ones business what I do or what she does... If you want to bungee jump- its your right. As for me- I feel its to dangerous. If I want to eat a piece of fried chicken.. Its my right,..

Paula Dean making money on her illness.. Sounds good. Why not? Its not like she asked for diabetes, I cant think of anyone that prays at night and say- "PLease lord give me diabetes.."

Eating habits are her business... I have news for everyone, its gonna be a shocker... We are all going to die one day.. Some earlier than others.. Some from diabetes complications... Some with diabetes taht get in a car crash... Its life.. You dont fix life- you simply manage life.

No one is trying to live your life for you or tell you what to eat or not eat.

Neither is anyone telling Paula Deen how to manage her diabetes, APPARENTLY! However, don't ask or expect support for the BAD choices you make and certainly don't be surprised or hurt when you don't get it!! And don't whine about it on national television!

She did a wonderful job in losing weight. Congrats to her on that. But she sure ruined her looks. Now she looks her age and they pile on the make up. But still a good person.

I hate being called a diabetic, and will always introduce my disease as type 1 diabetes, never just "diabetes".

Type 2 isn't a disease, it's a condition. Get on a treadmill, lose 100 lbs, and abra-cadabra you are cured! Obesity is draining this company dry. People uncontrollably stuffing their faces with filth is seriously the reason that health insurance is unaffordable for the majority of Americans.

There should be a fat tax to discourage eating, just as their is a sin tax on alcohol/tobacco.
