I love this quote-
"Maybe it is very difficult to adjust for lifestyle."

I would say that's a big 10-4 since there's nothing unique about diet soda. Carbonated water, aspartame and standard flavorings.

i think that these people need better things to do! duh!!! too much of anything is bad for you! just like eating too much will make you obese or eating too little will make you anorexic! Or eating too much meat your body will get constipated, or eating only vegtables your body doesn't get enough protein"! or listening to loud music too long would cause hearing problems! like straining your eye's on the computer or reading at night will give you eye problems! well if people didn't do anything that would cause them problems then we would live forever! now tell me that someone hasn't died of natural death, unlike suicides, acciedents, or murder that died of any complications then that would be worth studying about not diet soda! wow! the people they studied that drank diet soda were already having problems and weren't healthy from the start and had problems! but yeah give me a break!!

Aspartame Poisoning New Zealand

WHAT EXPERTS SAY ABOUT ASPARTAME and ABBY CORMACK
"Tragically, Abby's experience with aspartame is far from unique. In1985 I first encountered a clinical situation in which aspartame clearly triggered a manic episode in one of my patients. initially made an incorrect diagnosis of bipolar disorder and actually started a treatment regimen of lithium carbonate. The overall picture however was not totally consistent with bipolar illness, especially as a grand mal seizure accompanied the "manic"episode. Some detective work as to what was different in my patient's life resulted in the conclusion that the only significant change was the sudden introduction of a large amount of Crystal Lite (aspartame) into her diet. The total elimination of all aspartame resulted in fairly rapid resolution of her symptoms. The lithium was discontinued and she has remained symptom, and aspartame, free. I believe it is essential for all physicians to include a dietary history when assessing patients. Whenever aspartame is found to be included in the diet, I would encourage all health care professionals to educate their patients about the hazards and encourage complete abstinence from this artificial sweetener. In my own practice, I have found that many patients improve substantially with just this simple change. In particular, patients with underlying mood disorders appear to be particularly sensitive to the adverse consequences of this extremely hazardous substance."
Dr RG Walton MD, Medical Director, Safe Harbor Behavioral Health, Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine, Adjunct Professor Of Psychiatry, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
"Aspartame/NutraSweet cripples the lives of thousands of people. When I tried to persuade the president of the Searle Drug company, manufactures of that chemical sweetener, to do the tests that would find any dangers it posed before it was marketed he blew me off. His name was Donald Rumsfeld ( Iraq war architect). In exchanges about aspartame safety with him and his company I learned how little he values human life."
Attorney James Turner, Atty, who with Dr. John Olney tried to prevent approval of aspartame.
Meet Don Rumsfeld: www.soundandfury.tv/Paes/Rumsfeld.html
"I have reviewed the recent experience of Abby Cormack while chewing four (4) packs of aspartame gum daily, based on her "medical timeline 2007" -- coupled with the details of her testing and doctoring by interested and competent professionals, and the dramatic improvement of her psychological and most other symptoms following the avoidance of aspartame products.
Her problem appears to be largely due to aspartame disease, as I have detailed in many publications. I have reported severe depression, anxiety, insomnia, cramps, speech disturbance, confusion, blurred vision, eruptions, and neuropathic symptoms in numerous aspartame reactors consuming both gum and other products containing this chemical. Fortunately, her mother suspected the cause which had escaped the attention of several doctors. I have admired the great emphasis by persons in New Zealand and its government on avoiding exposure to a variety of toxic substances. The serious documented affliction of this young woman due to consuming aspartame is probably replicated by many other consumers in the country, and warrants the profound attention of its regulatory agencies."
Dr. H. J. Roberts, M.D., FACP, FCCP Named The Best Doctor in the USA by a national publication, author of 1,000 page medical text - Aspartame For more information go to:

Who really gives a crap anyway. Those of us that are smart enough to realize what is good for our bodies will continue to eat good and those who don't, never will. Not everyone is going to listen and if they don't, who really cares. They know what they're doing and this is a free society to eat whatever crap you want. If you people want to believe the soda companies, that sodas are safe then let them drink it. I mean the soda companies are being totally honest with the public right? I mean their only making money off you?
Hey, its even worse in the cosmetics industry which is totally unregulated by the gov't and has absolutely NO ONE checking what they put in the crap you put on your face and body. But like I said, your free to do what you want and believe who you want. It's your body and your life, and no one really cares if you live or die, honestly. It's all about the money.

I drink diet soda every day. I'm 52. All my bloodwork is perfectly normal, I am within weight guidelines for my height and age. This is absurd. I have a moronic sister-in-law who thinks diet soda makes people fat because she sees fat people drinking diet soda. Duh, they're using that diet soda to wash down a double cheeseburger, jumbo-sized fries and nachos. People get used to the taste of diet soda when they switch over to it from regular soda when they go on a diet and they keep drinking it even when they are no longer on a diet.

>>>It is common knowledge that anything made with High Fructose Corn Syrup and\or all other synthetically produced sweeteners have a negative impact on your health
Oh yeah? Where, outside of snopes.com ? There are no genuine research studies linking HFCS or aspartame to health problems. If you don't want to ingest them, fine. I say good for you. But stop spreading junk science; it's just as bad as junk food. There are genuine health problems that are being ignored, like massive water and air pollution and poison being put in our food by greedy American corporations which buy ingredients from Chinese criminals. Don't spread false stories; pay attention to the real ones, the ones the media doesn't want to tell you about because the media is now owned by giant corps. thirty years ago, Congress would have put tight controls on food products being imported from other countries after the pet food poisonings and the poison cough syrup and toothpaste. Today, Congress lets out nary a peep because bas*ards like the Walmart family have undercut US producers and gone overseas for the majority of their products. And Bush sells our debt to the Chinese, who use it as leverage "You can't ban our products or we'll call in our loans." In 2000, we didn't need to sell debt to the Chinese because we didn't have any debt. Do some research people, instead of believing every Tom Dick and Harry who tries to convince you that you should be worried about HFCS.

BTW, my moronic sister-in-law who thinks diet soda makes people fat is 5'5" tall and weighs 103 lbs at age 56. She looks like a swizzle stick and she smokes like a chimney to stay rail-thin. And her skin is starting to look like leather wrapped around a few muscles and a lot of bone.
