Hi Ravi,
I am also a type 2 diabetic. I've had it almost 3 and a half years. I don't know why I have it and I still find it very hard to deal with. No one in my family has it and the day I checked into the hospital 3 years ago my blood sugar was 891. My endo is also kinda dumbfounded by my diagnoses with diabetes. She just tested me for MODY diabetes but the results aren't confirmed enough to say that I have it. I find it very frustrating because every time I go to the doctor, I get put on a new medicine. I hate taking shots and refuse to do so, but the pills aren't enough.

Hi Kelly.

I see that you are from Colorado also.

I am looking for an email diabetic buddy to toss things around with. I have had it for 6 1/2 years and sometimes I am very good about it, but most times, I just eat like I used to and can't seem to control the amount of carbs.

Hi Mari,
I've had type 1 for about 6 or 7 years. I'd love to be able to talk to anyone with it! I feel so alone in dealing with my diabetes that sometimes I neglect it much more than I should. I guess I try and ignore it.....

Hello! I was also diagnosed with Type II diabestes in December of 2002. I am now on an insulin pump which I do pretty well with. However, I do not regulate it like I should I have neuropathy in my feet which is quite badl. I stepped on something a few weeks ago and did not know it until I saw a big pool of blood. I am on a squirrel cage. I am quite overwieght and that contributes to my diabetes but I cannot exercise due to other health problems so I am really caught in the middle. Just write if you ever want to talk.

I've been a diabetic for about 14 years and have not taken good care of myself. I take insulin, Humalog and Lantus. My diet has been horrible, drinking pepsi and eating anything I want. I'm trying to do better in the new year. I get depressed because of the diabetes. I could use some good friends. Thank you..

I've been a diabetic for 4 years now, and have been on the pump for a week now and it is so much better than taking 10 shots a day. I really try to take care of it, but it is so hard to live your life around a clock and needle. I would love to meet people who think Diabetes suck to. You can email me at overlymark@yahoo.com can't wait to hear from you.

Sorry pal. i am diabetic too and i have lived with it for the last 6 years. just try to take care of your diet because you need to live. otherwise diabetes is nothing but just that, the name. you can live life only but with just a little care.
we can talk more if you want.
thanks.

I feel your pain Sue. I am a type 1 that has had it for 20 years. Its not to late to start taking care of yourself before you suffer the consequenses. I am suffering from mild neuropathy and I am at stage 3 kidney disease. If I knew then... The up side of all this is that now that I have changed my habits the progression of these isuues are at a stand still.

Hi. I have been diabetic for 6 years. My doctors use terms like uncontrollable, and brittle. I have had ketoacidosis 2 times. i am alergic to some of the insulins that they have tried me on. I need two kinds the one that seems to help me the most is called Levimer.I work in a factory and this is gonna sound crazy but in the summer it is really hot and i sweat alot and my sugar stays so low i have to drink regular pop all day. But in the winter when it is cold, i can just smell food and my sugar stays high.Rarely am I under 300, much of the time over 500.I am underweight and always dehydrated. And sometimes i am just too weak to wiggle. I have recently started taking iron tablets, they are helping with my energy level.I am a challenge for my doctors, but they really try hard.

Found out back in Dec 2005 that I had type 2 diabetes. So far I am in control of my diabetes. Still a little bit overweight but not by much. Still eat sugar but not as much as I use too. A1c is at 4.5. It takes time to find the right medication and supplements to take.Would like to talk to either type 1 or 2 diabetics out there? email mkellyjk75@gmail.com (please no spam mail)

Hi. I am also a diabetic on the insulin pump and I also have neuropathy in my feet as well. I know exactly how your feeling. Are you taking any meds for the neuropathy? My doctor gave me medicine to help and you could also go to a therapist for electrod therapy for your feet. If I were you I would check both of these options out. After being on the pump for a while will also help eventually. I have finally gotten "some" feeling back in my feet. Also always wear good shoes. Flip flops are the worse shoe you could wear. I hate wearing a good tennis shoe all of the time but it does help. What type of tennis shoe are you wearing? I wear New Balance with a number at least in the 600's. I hope I have helped you.
