I have a rash on my left middle finger, its recurring bumps appear in clusters, tend to take long periods of time to heal swollen and painful, looks like blood underneath. It only occurs on this single finger. Will go away for some period of time and recur possibly due to contact with wet clothing.(I work at a uniform company.)If I wear gloves it will go away eventually. Went to family doctor last year he prescribed a antibiotic. Any idea of what it is and why it would only happen on this one finger?

I am wondering if anyone else had this problem. I had inguinal hernia surgery two weeks ago on my right side. Every went well for over a week. About 9 days after surgery, still had swelling so I was trying to keep my scrotum/testicles elevated while sleeping. I was wearing boxer briefs and a pair of shorts with inner lining (not the best breathable shorts). Next day, woke up with an itch in my crotch. Put some J&J powder in it and seemed to help. But itching persisted - went to bed the next night (Day 10, May 31) and woke with a lot of itching on the right inner thigh and itching on my right side of my belly. On the left side of my scrotum, skin was very moist, itchy and leathery. I went to the store and bought some jock itch medication. The scrotum issue seems to be in control. However, on my right side I still have a rash on my thigh and right belly side.
I do not think it is directly related to the surgery. I think it could be jock itch (from when I was trying to elevate my scrotum by wearing boxer briefs and nylon shorts - creating a damp environment). I could have spread the jock itch to my side by itching - smart.
Now, instead of little red dots, I have red, itchy blotches on my right outer thigh (about 4x4 inches) and on my right "love handle" (about 1x2 inches). The weird thing is that it is all on one side. I do see a couple of red dots on my left side, but those seem to be disappearing.
I bought Selsun Blue and some multi-vitamins, thinking this could be a fungal situation. I see my surgeon on Monday, hopefully he will have some input. I will also make an appointment with my PCP. I marked the area of the rash with a pen to outline the borders to see if things change. Any input would be very helpful.
