Depression and psychological disorders doesn't discriminate and have nothing to do with socioeconomic status. Because their bills are getting paid (supposedly) and their lives are "easier" mental disease will somehow magically skip over college students?

It never ceases to amaze me how jealousy and resentment of youth and their so-called lack of responsibility rears its ugly head in these comments. If it makes you feel better, they will age and and be burdened down with bills and family responsibilities soon enough. Probably still battling periodic depression if they have to hide it from ignoramuses like you.

Most college degrees are worthless; BS Psychology, Counseling, Social Studies, and many Master degrees such as: International Studies, Sociology, MSW,etc. Also, I find it difficult to hear parents and others call them 'kids.' They are 18-24, some become career students until 35.
I puke when I hear a parent say about a 1 year old, "we are putting away money for poopers college' It's all BS. Those who do attend, 50% or more are not in the field they studied. It's a scam. I like the tech. schools that teach a trade. As for money, scre them. I worked at Market Sq in W'Burg, delivered pizzas and had a campus paper route in 97. Hey, I am not talking about 100 years ago. Let them work. Take their college fund and go on a boat cruise to Bermuda.

I've been on Effexor from http://goo.gl/TRCx1y only one week but am cautiously very optimistic. Prior to this I was on citalopram but still feeling very low and sleeping poorly, feeling like I needed to be in bed 12-16 hours a day. Now I am waking naturally after only 8 hours sleep and finding it much easier to concentrate at work. I can hardly believe it is working so quickly but I feel so much better. I've had no side effects.
