I have had major depression for over 10yrs. Some of the sideaffects from the drugs make you more depressed. Some of the drugs are supposed to {help you deal with your sadness}. but if nothing in reality doesn't change for the better all the antidepressants in the world are not going to help.
For a depressed person is like a peace of glass it doesn't take much to break them. And today's world sooner smash the glass then handle it with care.{WE DONOT NEED MORE DRUGS WE NEED TO BECOME A MORE CAREING SOCITY}. Mabe The FDA should take a better LOOK::::::::::

I almost agree with you. We do not need more drugs, we need a caring society. Almost, but I would go one step further. I would say, we do not need more drugs, we need a non corrupt society! We need to care about justice, really thirst and yearn for it, pray for it.

There is corruption in high places. Look around you, look at the top. Stop blaming the parents/schools/doctors/nurses /ordinary joe public. Look at the top. Who is making the money out of who? Yes, you see it, don't you! Corruption in high places.

I've been on Effexor from http://goo.gl/TRCx1y only one week but am cautiously very optimistic. Prior to this I was on citalopram but still feeling very low and sleeping poorly, feeling like I needed to be in bed 12-16 hours a day. Now I am waking naturally after only 8 hours sleep and finding it much easier to concentrate at work. I can hardly believe it is working so quickly but I feel so much better. I've had no side effects.
