There are many non drug approaches for overcoming
GAD or excessive worry. Is it a medical condition? I don't know. I was personally helped by aerobic exercise, anti-rumination exercises, and

Worry when done properly can be an effective tool to help reduce stress.

I know this may sound counter intuitive, but since we are often worried about things that are important to us, It would only be to our bennefit to learn how to worry in a more productive way.

What we need is a method to first of all sieve out all worries that we cannot do anything to change, then write out a plan for the worries we can do something about.

When you do this, you'll find out that the worries you cannot do anything about cannot be placed in a plan of action.

In addition the worries that can be placed in an action plan will naturally fall into an order of priority.

Strangly though, following this strategy has a tendency to reduce your tendency to worry.
