Mr Swartz was a coward. He enjoyed all of the fame that came with "fighting the system". But when his crimes caught up with him, he did the most un-heroic act all - committed suicide. Really??? Heroes are willing to face prison and even die for what they believe to be right. History proves it time after time.
Consider the abolitionist John Brown. As a White Male, he had nothing to gain from ending slavery. Yet, he so hated it that he was willing to die for it. He died by hanging for the act of treason.
This is how a hero dies. These are Mr Brown's own words:
Now, if it is deemed necessary that I should forfeit my life for the furtherance of the ends of justice, and mingle my blood further with the blood of my children and with the blood of millions in this slave country whose rights are disregarded by wicked, cruel, and unjust enactments, I submit; so let it be done!"
