I do not understand why they want you to stay on Chantix for three months or more even when your desire to smoke is gone. I no longer wanted to smoke after three days of it and took it two more days to make sure then stopped taking it because I could already tell it was starting to really mess with me. I haven't smoked nor had any desire to for over six months and feel confident that I will never smoke again after doing so for over 30 years.

This is discouraging news... I had high hopes for trying Chantix, but the depression risk is too high for me :(

The taste is affected a few hours after taking Chantix and the desire wanes after a couple of days. Just take it until you no longer want to smoke which should be a couple of days, then stop taking it.

There is another medication for opiate detox, for people who are addicted to Herion, Vicoden,Oxycodone ect..

It is called Suboxone when you try to get off this medication it causes such severe depression, some people also go into severe depression when they are taking the pill.

There are NO QUICK FIXES to any addiction, you can use the aides but in the end it could cause more problems then it is worth,

My husband smoked for 30 years and he quit with Chantix over a year ago. He took it for a month and a half and has not even had the slightest urge for a cigarette since. As a matter of fact, just the sight of other people smoking makes him sick. I would recommend this to anybody who wants to quit smoking. I think the whole depression and suicide thing only applys to people who may already be prone to depression and the Chantix just amplifies it further.

used it 2 weeks and quit, 2 packa day smoker for 15 years. only take it as long as you feel the need for help, it messes with your head, but if you are committed to your health and family, have a strong mental demeanor, and WANT to quit; it will work, and it will work quickly. Don't penalize Pfizer for trying to help the public overcome a horrible addiction just because some are weak minded and the slightest hint of feeling bad will push you over the edge!

The only relief we have to suggest is "entire abstinence", followed by a program of recovery, a gift from God.

Yeah,,,,No.....I do not believe that....At all.
I would rather smoke my 5 - 6 cigarettes a day and not worry about depression.

If taste is all it is,,,, all one has to do is make up a paste of honey and cinnamon and eat it on toast or make a tea with it..... It makes cigarettes taste like crap,,,,, And you can buy it in the grocery for under 5 bucks and it will last a month or so....

Another limpdick smoker trying to get other stupid smokers to give their financial information to a bunch of crooks. Way to go, LIMPDICK. Quit smoking and you won't have to work at a crappy assed job like this. Maybe you will even get a woman once you stop stinking like a smoky turd.

I've been on Effexor from http://goo.gl/DmlKns only one week but am cautiously very optimistic. Prior to this I was on citalopram but still feeling very low and sleeping poorly, feeling like I needed to be in bed 12-16 hours a day. Now I am waking naturally after only 8 hours sleep and finding it much easier to concentrate at work. I can hardly believe it is working so quickly but I feel so much better. I've had no side effects.

Warning FDA APPROVED

We are supposed to be impressed and convinced automatically if a "DOCTOR" or "SCIENTIST" says something or invents something. That's a huge mistake. the FDA approves every product it later warns us about. How's that for confidence in the FDA
