Low Endurance/Stamina/ Dehydration?.(Advice needed)

The weather is finally warm where I live so I went out to play basketball!
I played for about 5 minutess, after that it all went bad I was so tired, couldn't even spit out saliva, my throat felt soar and the most craziest thing my whole mouth tasted like blood!
But there was no blood.
I felt so dehydrated!
Now, this is my first time playing after having Surgery (around a year) so I expected to get tired easily but not to the extent of being really dehydrated and tasting blood in my mouth.
My friends are saying that this is happening cause of my addiction to soda!
I drink about 4-5 cans a day, only 7up/sprite.
And around a glass of water.
Now could that be true?.
Can the blood and dehydration be part of drinking a lot of soda?.
Thanks in advance!

YES drinking soda WILL dehydrate you...especially the sugary drinks.
You should be drinking 8-10 glasses of water daily on top off any other drinks you have. Sugar and caffeine will make you pee away your water.

drink a lot of water and vitamins.
exercise everyday even if it's only for 2 hours.
